A beautifully peaceful spot to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our walks on the farm, and stargazing from the hot tub. The accommodation was clean and cozy. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the bathroom was neat with a large shower.

Came here last year as I grew up in the hermitage and brought my Thai fiance and she just fell in love with the place. The animals, nature, mountains and friendly people. Love it here and came back longer this time and will be back every year.

Lovely stay, accommodation has everything you need. Felt right at home, it’s neat and tastefully decorated. Highlight is the hot tub which is always a win. The views were peaceful and serene. My kids loved the communal pool, hammock and playing outdoors in the front area of the house. Will definitely return!

We had the most wonderful stay at Rivergate. The farm is gorgeous and peaceful and if you like these sort of environments, this place is for you. Our family enjoyed the beautiful interiors and exteriors and the hot tub was an utter hit with the kids. A highlight was the fresh breakfast basket delivered every morning. The farm has lots to enjoy from kayaks and canoes for the river, walks, flower picking and more. It was such a delight and I hope we can be back for a visit in the future. Our one negative was that we unfortunately had small bats nesting in the roof of our bedroom which disturbed us in the evenings. The Rivergate family was seeing to their removal so hopefully they won’t be a bother for anyone else. It’s a rural and beautiful setting so understandably you will share space with some creatures but this did not detract from the wonderful stay here.

We enjoyed our stay, it was peaceful and private. We loved the wood-fired hot tub!! The unit was clean and we loved the location.

We had a wonderful weekend, loved it all from the sweet little dogs to the outside shower. It was an excellent home away from home.

We booked Penny's place at the last minute and she was more than willing to assist us. The space is lovely, we enjoyed meals in the open plan kitchen with a view over the valley. The kitchen is well equipped for self catering. The shower was piping hot and clean which was superb on a rainy cold weekend. Full dstv bouquet allowed us to enjoy the UCI XCO races. All in all, an incredibly pleasant weekend. Thanks Penny.

We visited over the Easter Weekend, and it was a joy to be away from the busy crowds in town. The interior of the cottage is absolutely stunning and spacious. We also loved the private outside area with a braai and 3 areas to relax. Privacy from the bedroom is not great, especially with the doors open. Don't let the lack of seaviews put you off. You feel like you are on a farm, highly recommended!

A perfect stay for a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Beautiful and peaceful surroundings with a gorgeous view of the mountains. We enjoyed the Mountain biking trails and had a wonderful meal at the local hotel. The cottage was just perfect - being spacious, well equipped and tastefully decorated.

Pandokke is a charming and rustic cabin deep in the wilderness of Schoemanskloof. The stone cabin is well appointed with amenities. There beautiful walks to the waterfalls nearby. Pandokke offers an opportunity to stay historical cabin that once was a stopover for the travelling pioneers of the 1880’s., to the area. The road to the cabin is steep and narrow and does require a car with high ground clearance or a 4x4. A peaceful escape.

The perfect place to stay for a getaway for any couple. Cottage is right on beach and perfect if you have pets with you. We went for our wedding anniversary and had the most amazing time and stay and would highly recommend. We will defintely be back again and this time for a longer stay. Camilla was a great hostess. While we had a shorty stay, Michelle made us feel right at home. She had so many thoughtful touches that I haven't had in an Airbnb in a long time. She left a personal note and a welcome basket full of treats from her garden, and some much appreciated basics like bread/butter, honey, jam, tea, coffee, and milk. Michelle was lovely and warm, and provided such a great respite from our long travel days. The views are also incredible.

A beautiful cottage in a stunning setting. Very clean and well equipped, we will definitely visit again.

Really enjoyed our stay at the milk cottage. The cottage itself was very beautiful, well layed out and equipped with everything we needed. There were also books which our 2 year old son enjoyed reading and playing with. The property was also amazing with play areas and lots of toy trucks and a deck where you get a spectacular view of the maize plantation and the drakensberg.

We had an amazing stay at the cottage. It was peaceful and private - aside from some welcome visits by the dogs and cat. There is great attention to detail and the instructions were clear. You can tell this is a tried and tested setup. The area is beautiful and perfect for a weekend getaway. There is a nearby weir that you can walk to as well with a lovely picnic spot. Note that reaching the place will require a higher vehicle for very light off-roading. If there is an opportunity, I would consider staying here again.

PEACEFUL, SERENE, PERFECT! What a way to enjoy our 15th anniversary! Calm space for us to plan over our life, stunning outside bath (very cosy in the rain too i must add), warm inside fire. Felt completely alone. Mia was onto every communication whenever needed. Thank you and bless your family 🙏🏻

Very easy location to get to, with lovely surroundings and house that is wonderful if the weather is great - although the Kolkol would be great in any weather! Traffic a bit noisy if there's no wind.
