Right out the door is a trail down to the valley with marshes and ponds to explore. 2 miles away is the spring fed Lake St. George, with incredibly clean and clear water.

Walking trails connect the cabin to our farm next door, where you can visit with our horses, donkeys, goats, chickens, and ducks. First floor has 1 bedroom (queen bed), a full bathroom, full kitchen with all essentials, and utility room with a washer and a dryer. The second floor has a half bath and three bedrooms (king, and two queen beds).

The Barn

I call my place "The Barn" because as I was finishing it it took the shape and feel of a barn. It's not a barn. It's a quiet post and beam open concept building (a Jamaica Cottages kit) set among the fields of Appleton, Maine. You'll sleep in the loft or on a futon on the main floor. The bathroom is huge, 10X10, with a heated floor. It's an open concept kitchen and living space. From Appleton you are 20 miles away from the tourist destinations of Camden, Rockland, and Belfast.

The Appleton Retreat is less than a 30 minute drive to Belfast, Rockport, Camden and Rockland, charming downeast seaside towns.
