Briar Hill Lodge fit the bill for us for a quiet, peaceful spot to enjoy a long weekend for a birthday and total eclipse viewing. We were able to bring both of our pups and they could run around on the large property. The lodge is a beautiful log cabin, furnished very nicely, with extra blankets and towels. Lots of wood for the stove. Wifi was good; no tv or radio, just birdsong & breezes. It was fairly easy to find but cell service gets spotty so download maps ahead. It's a couple of dirt roads off the main road; watch the animals on either end that may run out in the road. With limited food options nearby, we brought food to cook. The property was muddy but it's early spring so not unexpected for us. It just meant wiping the dogs down and doing some cleaning before we left to make sure we didn't leave muddy paw prints around. 20 min to Letchworth SP and food spots. Overall 4.8 and would stay again for the solitude and peacefulness. We really enjoyed it! Thanks!

We absoluly loved the cottage. It was the perfect place to come and enjoy nature for a few days with our family. There was much room for activities in the giant yard!! The hot tub was great too!

Overall, the place is exactly how it’s described and it was a good place to bring the dogs. Although I would recommend making it mandatory that people pick up after their dogs because I felt like we were avoiding dog poop every step we took.

This is our second stay at the house and it was just as great as the first stay. We had four family members join the two of us, and we were all comfortable. We particularly liked the comfy beds, the nice hot shower and the laundry area as the area we visited is in full mud season! The kitchen is well stocked making it easy to prepare food and clean up. We will return as it is a very nice home, convenient to family members nearby and an excellent value.

The location was beautiful and very scenic. Located on top of a hill with great views. Stars were really nice to view at night. Neil and Helen were very responsive and accommodating. House was exactly as described and instructions were very clear. We will be back next year.

Great location for visiting Alfred University and the local area. Loved the unique building design and all the ceramics inside. Rooms are huge! Kitchen is very well equipped.

Amazing place for me and my hunting buddies to stay . Cabin was Perfect with the bunk beds and wood burner to keep us warm . Cozy creekside property tucked off the road which was nice. Will definitely be back for another weekend stay .

Winter in western NY can be unpredictable. Luckily, Sheila is an amazing host and went out of her way to make sure we had a great stay. We absolutely loved the cabin, especially the real fireplace. Sheila also had excellent recommendations for nearby food and activities. We’ll be staying here again!

This was our first stay at an Airbnb and we absolutely loved it. Debbie was an incredible host and highly responsive every time I reached out with a question. The place was adorable and the area was so beautiful. Also, the restaurant downstairs served some of the most delicious foods. Highly recommend this host and location!

Made last minute plans to find a camping spot and came across this gem 4.5hrs away from my home during the first week of November. I was fortunate to have a clear skies allowing me to view the Milky Way, loads n loads of wood and a lot of other essentials so it’s okay if you’re not completely prepared. The dollar general, gas stations, grocery stores are minutes away. It was a blast even though it was just me and the spirit of the cabin that weekend. I think I’ll bring my son here next time.
