Location - Best! Close to Ithaca. Close to the finger lakes. Waterfalls. Museums. Kids activities. Everything. A short drive from the house and you're there. The house - amazing. Old. Fun. Has everything to live comfortably. Great kitchen. Amazing dining room. 3 bedrooms. Easily accommodated us (family of 5). Dishwasher. Washing machine and dryer. Everything. So cool. It's an old house and that's what makes it cool. 2 floors and a basement. Everything is organized so well and a lot of surprises in some cool notes. ... And the yard. So. Nice. Eat breakfast on the back porch and BOOM(!) - Squirrels running around the yard and on the trees. What more can you ask for? The host - Suzanne is so nice. Communication was easy. She answered all our questions fast. She recommended activities around when our plans fell (a little bit) apart. She made us feel at home (at her home!). Bottom line - highly recommended. Our time there was amazing. Slept well. Ate well. Lived well. Can you ask for.more? When I'll travel to that area again - I'll stay at Suzanne's house.

We can easily sum up our stay with this dear couple as “Hunky Dory” 😆 They were most welcoming and it felt like we were visiting out of grandparents in their cozy, well loved, vintage home! With local cider and sweets, and good conversation when we returned for the evening, to delicious full breakfasts, and even to-go goody bags of local made donuts 🍩 along with wet and dry paper towels for sticky fingers haha we felt very well cared for. Who could ask for anything more!

We had a wonderful a wonderful time during our stay at Lesley's home. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous, their place is very cozy and comfortable, and their hospitality made us feel completely at home. The three black cats and big, friendly dog were major bonuses for us and made our stay even more joyful! We would love to come back again next year.

Highly recommend staying at the chapel! Clean, comfortable, spacious, well-stocked, and nicely decorated. Ample tabletop space and hooks/hangers were very convenient. Full size fridge is updated in the kitchen. Checkout process was very easy!! Kind and responsive host Alexa. I feel that living plants are rare to find in rentals and the inclusion of them here made the space extra homey! For any high-ceiling place, my general tip is to have warm layers available.

My wife and I had a great stay in the Finger Lakes. We felt right at home. The host worked hard to resolve a situation and accommodate us even when a small snag was encountered. Really appreciate it. The sunrise over the lake is amazing!

renee was a wonderful host. she’s very sweet and was a great conversationalist. the space was clean, her cats were also wonderful. i highly recommend her and her delicious bagels! would stay here again :)

This listing was exactly as described. Clean and stocked well with towels. Having two full bathrooms is very handy. Lots of space to hang out inside, and a small deck with a grill if you feel the need. Two king size beds upstairs made for very comfortable evenings. It is a literal couple minute walk from Watkins Glen State Park and the Gorge Trail for when you want to get out. It is also just a few minute walk to many restaurants, bars, Ben & Jerry's, good BBQ, brewery/tasting rooms, and most importantly, the southern tip of Seneca Lake. Take a stroll down that way at sunset and you will not be disappointed. Plus, wineries, breweries, and distilleries everywhere! Barely anything negative to say as this is a five-star spot in my book, but if you are adverse to stairs or have mobility issues, this place may not be ideal. Additionally the upstairs bathroom has a particularly low doorway, so if you're going to the bathoom in the middle of the night, you gotta keep your eyes open.

To be honest, I would love to have a little studio exactly like that to live in... I'm retired and that would be perfect for me and my 12 lb havanese... It was a little out of the way, but I'd highly recommend to anyone...

We were impressed with how spacious and well-equipped the unit is. It is in a quiet location with easy parking. There were dining options within walking distance and it's an easy drive to local attractions. The bed and down pillows are super comfortable and I appreciated the shelf in the wall for the person on the left side of the bed. We found the nook a cozy place to read or play games at night. The unit was filled with healthy live plants which made it feel more like a home than a rental. The heat sources are not traditional and welcome instructions didn't describe them. When we reached out Sam quickly responded and came and turned on the heat (it is a window unit that provides both AC and heat) while we were out for the day. He also generously picked up some herbal tea to supplement the caffeinated tea options.

We have stayed at several of Rachel and Sam's apartments and they are always great. Lots of supplies in the kitchen and bathrooms. Cozy furniture and well laid out spaces. It is our go to spot when visiting upstate.

You couldn't find a better location. Around the corner from the gorge, a couple blocks to downtown, we could walk to everything. Quiet neighborhood. Clean, older home. Great place to stay!

You’ve probably read about the breakfast from others, but it’s truly the best breakfast I’ve had in years. We had the pancakes, breakfast sandwich and ricotta toast and they were ALL incredible. Not to mention her baked goods. But onto the room: the BnB was the epitome of peace. I often get nervous as your experience can be greatly ruined by your neighbors in a BnB but the room was private, spacious and it seemed like everyone had their privacy despite all being on the same floor. The room was absolutely spotless; bed comfortable and warm, bathroom shower pressure amazing, curtains that block out light and thoughtful touches throughout. We spent a few nights sleeping away and waiting until it was time for breakfast! Kudos to the couple who owns this space. They are both hospitable, sweet and made the experience that much better. Thank you for a wonderful getaway!

We stayed in a room at 16 Elm for our anniversary. The room and house were exactly as described - beautiful, clean, and quiet. The location was great, perfect for walking to get a cup of coffee in the morning. It was convenient to the wineries, Taughannock Falls, and Ithaca. We took advantage of many of Jes' suggestions for things to do and places to eat. We would definitely come back here and highly recommend 16 Elm to anyone looking for a romantic retreat in the beautiful Finger Lakes!

Eileen's home was warm and welcoming - exactly what we needed. She is helpful and knowledgeable and it is a delight to stay with her!

Beautiful house, our room was clean, cozy, and never too hot or too cold. Parking spots perfectly labled and the instructions on where to park and how to get inside were easy and straightfoward. Breakfasts was also delicious. 10/10 would come back again.

My husband and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary here! We both needed time away from civilization and to enjoy nature. We slept like babies in the big comfy bed with Mr. Heater doing his job to keep our tent toasty. The babbling brook outside as well as the other nature sounds acted as a natural “white noise machine.” The kitchen was fully stocked and Joan provided breakfast in the morning. This was a great location to spend time together and reflect. We will be back and we will bring friends next time! Definitely recommend this beautiful sanctuary that Joan and staff have created!
