Beech Tree Cottage is a delightful cottage nestled in the beautiful hills of Somerset, on the south side of a wooded valley beside the River Tone. Nearly 200 years old, this lovely cottage has been newly updated to create a charming, well-equipped holiday home. The shared grounds are a paradise of fields, water meadows and gardens, a haven for wildlife, and star-gazing in our dark skies. Our heated indoor swimming pool and play area are shared between our cottages and offer fun for everyone.

Cosy Somerset Retreat

The cottage is part of a historic gate house that was the entrance to the Bishop of Wells's Palace when he moved to Somerset to escape the Plague. There is some excavation in the garden to the right of the house that shows the old cobblestone floor and original wall of the palace. The Roman Arch is listed in the Dooms Day book. Cottage has thick stone walls and relaxing vibe, beautiful garden filled with bird song, there are comfy beds and plenty of great walks and sites to visit in the area.

Our lovely 2-bed cottage sits on the edge of Exmoor and is only a 20min walk from local amenities. A cosy home from home, with a wood burner (logs provided), broadband, Smart TV, fully equipped kitchen, including tea coffee milk etc. A pretty little garden to enjoy the lovely view, secure off road parking for 1 car plus additional parking available with prior arrangement.
