We were visiting family nearby and were so pleased with this home. It was quirky and full of character. The secure garden was perfect and everything was so neat and proper. It had excellent facilities and the little touches like coffee, tea and milk were perfect. The fact that dogs are allowed was very welcoming and kind. The only thing was the main road was quite loud but just bring some ear plugs and you’ll be absolutely fine. It’s worth it for this property which has everything you could need in a very beautiful village. We would 100% return if we came back to the area.

My son and his family stayed at Andrew’s property while they were visiting us from Australia. It is a fabulous property. Clean, comfortable and, with the log burner going, very cosy. Very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Very comfy beds and the little ones loved the bunk beds. Lots of little extras including books, games, logs for the fire and even a BBQ. Ideally situated with shops, cafes and the local market all within walking distance. The railway station is nearby and and the M6 less than 5 minutes drive. Andrew responded to a couple of minor queries almost immediately. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending and would definitely use again.

We loved the layout of this place—upstairs living and downstairs sleeping worked perfectly for us. The floors were quite noisy, but thankfully, with toddlers around, most of our group was already used to a little extra noise! If you're comfortable driving up steep roads, this venue is well worth it. It was wonderfully warm inside, so much so that we didn’t even get a chance to use the fire! There are plenty of activities and adventures within a 15 to 30-minute drive, but the on-site games room is a great option for fun as well. While we didn’t get to explore nearby walks, we noticed plenty of people parked close by, suggesting there’s lots to enjoy in the area. The hosts were fantastic—friendly, helpful, and made our stay even more enjoyable. We’d absolutely recommend this place!

The Hen house is a little gem. The garden and surrounding area is idyllic and the house is charming. We had a lovely couple of days relaxing and thoroughly loved our stay. Brian and Judy are lovely hosts and I highly recommend a stay with them.

We had an amazing stay, Claire's had everything we could possibly need & more! Location was great, a 1 minute walk to the local pub which was really friendly & great for quiz night on a Wednesday! A 20 minute walk into Holmfirth for a choice of lovely coffee shops & places to eat! Plenty of walks & bike rides straight out of the house! Thank you for having us & thank you so much for all the tasty treats!

A fantastic experience from start to finish. The cottage is set in a beautiful rural setting with lots of great walks accessible without having to drive anywhere. There is a great local pub a 5 minute walk along the lane and plenty more a short hike away. Jim and Diane were the perfect hosts - respecting your privacy whilst always being available to answer any questions. The property was wonderful and perfectly set up for my elderly mother who has mobility issues - extremely comfortable with fantastic views of the surrounding fields and hills. We will definitely make a return visit in the future and thoroughly recommend this property for a relaxing holiday. Many thanks for a wonderful Easter break.

Lovely barn in a rural location within easy reach of local amenities. Very friendly and welcoming host. On the doorstep of all the great cycling/walking trails.

I stayed at Diane´s for a month, traveling from Kenya, and it truly felt like a home away from home. The unit I rented was part of the main house but had its own separate entrance, offering privacy and comfort. The beautiful lush, vast garden full of life, peaceful surroundings with horses and birds, lots of different birds, made the experience unforgettable. The location was perfect—quiet and surrounded by nature, yet close enough to Chester and lots of renown tourist destination for easy exploring. The hosts were kind and respectful, ensuring I had everything I needed. I highly recommend Hatton Hall for anyone seeking a peaceful , convenient and private countryside escape.

We had a wonderful weekend at this place, it was perfect for our toddler to run around the garden and we felt right at home. Great location and stay

Lovely stay at Jonathan’s place. I grew up in the area and was nice to come back and stay again. The flat was spotless, and well furnished with everything you would need for a short stay. Jonathan was super responsive to any queries we had, and was really helpful answering questions. We will definitely be back next time we are staying in the area.

Beautiful location with stunning views over the countryside. Comfortable furnishings and relaxing place to rest our heads as we spent most of our days out and about for work. Colin was very responsive to messages and very helpful, before and during our stay. A great base to explore the local area.

We had a brilliant one night stay. We loved it. Took our boys and dog and everyone had a great time. It’s a stunning location and is a really great outdoor space, including the outdoor kitchen, BBQ and fire pit. Really well equipped. The hosts’ communication was spot. Shame it was only one night, still worth it though.

We had a lovely stay here, it was exactly what we needed for our stay as we were attending a wedding. Callum was a great host with excellent communication he was really accommodating for us. The place was very quirky and very well thought out in how it was equipped with all that was needed. Nothing was too much trouble for Callum. We have to say our favourite thing was Isaac the cat, yes we could stop him visiting but we fell in love with him so let him come and go as he pleased and he spent the night with us with my little one loved. We had an amazing time at Jocelyn’s cabin! She was so responsive before booking, letting us know about the roads to the cabin and the outdoor camping shower. The cabin itself was amazing, no frills and exactly what we wanted for a weekend hiking in the Peaks. The surroundings are gorgeous and we sat out by the fire just enjoying the quiet. The shower was a fun adventure we both enjoyed and being able to wrap up by the wood burner after was 10/10. She also recommended us a local pub for dinner and WOW it was amazing! Book in as it gets busy but a stellar recommendation. In general Jocelyn was a great host at a great cabin and we will definitely be coming back!

This was our second visit to this quirky container cabin as my kids enjoyed their first trip so much, they asked if we could go back. Cleverly designed interior makes excellent use of the space proving comfortable sleeping areas with skylights to the stars and well equipped kitchen/living space. Some lovely local walks and outdoor bbq/fire pit area make this a great escape for families or couples. We look forward to visiting again soon!

Hands down one of the best stays we’ve ever had. Rod and Victoria have done an amazing job with the cabin and it just ticked all the boxes. You couldn’t ask for a better location sat between the water and the lovely horses behind us. How nice it was to be sat round the fire pit watching the boats go by tucking into some sausages from the BBQ. The little touches really made the place feel like home. The fresh bread and butter. The outstanding marmalade to accompany a nice cup of tea with some milk 😊 and the hot chocolate, biscuits and marshmallows sure did go down a treat with the kids! They provided all the fire wood we needed for the night so we could get the wood burner going which made the cabin feel lovely and toasty. They also gave you some feed for the animals which was such an experience for the kids and they loved it. Super friendly hosts with great communication. Easy and accurate directions to follow. Absolutely amazing stay could not recommend enough! Hosts were fantastic and very friendly. The perfect place to relax and unwind. The scenery is absolutely beautiful and the river which is just a short walk away from where you're staying is 100% worth the visit. Youll not be disappointed. We will most definitely be coming back!
