Kenichi's place is perfect to stay in Takayama. Kenichi is the perfect host and all manner of requests and questions are well within his reach. The location is about a 15 to 20 minute walk from the train station. The house has traditional tatami rooms that are spacious, clean and very Japanese. Kenichi prides himself on not just being a host but an ambassador for his beautiful town. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in Kenichi's place. Although the bathroom is small with a deep bathtub/shower which may prove challenging to some travellers, a traditional Japanese onsen is minutes down the road. Truly a great place to stay with wonderful hosts. And breakfast served by Kenichi's wife, Chikako, was always delicious and beautifully presented, is also reason to stay here. We thoroughly recommend this place.

Koshiro-san‘s Familie und Hana-chan sind sehr herzliche Menschen, die einen gleich wie zu Hause fühlen lassen. Es war lustig, morgens gemeinsam eisbaden zu gehen und sehr angenehm, sich abends vor dem Kamin mit allen zu unterhalten. Das Haus im traditionellen japanischen Stil hat einen besonderen Charme und ist sehr sauber. Ōtaki liegt am Ontake See. Der Blick in die Natur und die reine Luft sorgen für eine ruhige Atmosphäre. Man kann von hier aus zu Wasserfällen wandern, Tagesreisen nach Magome oder an den Suwa-See unternehmen, oder mit Kambe Gassi gehen und sich mit den Dorfbewohnern unterhalten. Viele junge Leute in den Mittzwanzigern sind in den letzten Jahren nach Ōtaki gezogen und es besteht eine Gemeinschaft, die schön zu sehen ist. Dementsprechend wird es auch im Tsunehachi nie langweilig. Ich möchte allen für diese einmalige Reise danken und hoffe, bald wieder kommen zu können! ありがとうございました！またね！

Das Haus liegt wunderschön etwas am Hang. Ganz in der Nähe gehen Spazierwege den Berg weiter hoch, wenn man mal eine Pause vom Shopping und Sightseeing braucht. So wunderschön eingerichtete Zimmer, in denen man sich sehr wohl fühlt. Sehr große Küche und Wohnzimmer! Toll sich auch für größere Gruppen. Alles super zu Fuß erreichbar! Danke für die wunderschöne Zeit!

The time in Okate was the highlight of my trip to Japan. The beauty is in the quiet and the basics. It's a beautiful area and village with friendly locals.

We stayed two nights in this beautiful Ryokan, on a joined family trip. 10 people from 6-44years. Everyone absolutely loved it. Aircondition in every sleeping room was a great surprise. The outdoor tub was amazing and relaxing. We walked from the ryokan to Matsukurakannon shrine, which was an awe inspiring trip. If using google maps, find «matsukura symbol plaza» and follow the road there. Then there are signs to the shrine and castle ruins. If you mark the shrine itself, maps will tell you to go straight up in the wild, so just follow the road! About 2,5km from the ryokan. We would love to come back at some point, and truly recommend visiting!

Wat Resort has the most perfect location! It is wonderful for a group of friends with a large communal area to socialise in, spacious bedrooms and a gorgeous and well equipped kitchen area. We absolutely loved our stay here. You re right in the center of everything and everyting is walking distance. Takayama has a village ‘feel’ to it and is enchanting during springtime. Will return in a heartbeat!

Excellent location, near the train and bus station but walkable to the main attractions. The place was spotless.

We were so glad to find this place as our base to explore Takayama and the nearby area. Sachi's place was so close to JR station and Nohi Bus Centre, the convenient location made our sightseeing easy since we basically used public transportation to get around. The whole unit was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The futon was so comfortable, we had good rest every night. We were able to use the fully equipped kitchen to make breakfast/meal everyday. We saved a lot on our food budget. In addition, we got the chance to meet Sachi in person, she was kind and friendly. We look forward to staying in this place again when we visit Takayama in the near future.

Die Unterkunft war toll. Wir haben uns wie Zuhause gefühlt. Sie ist sehr geräumig und hat alles, was man braucht. Auch die Nähe zum Stadkern und zum Bahnhof war sehr toll. Außerdem war es sehr Babyfreundlich. Wir sind mit unserem 9 Monate alten Sohn gereist und es gab einen Babysitz am Tisch, einen Windelmülleimer und auch extra Handtücher für den Kleinen - das kriegen die meisten Hotels und Unterkünfte nicht auf die Reihe. Sollten wir je nach Takayama zurückkehren kommen wir auf jeden Fall wieder in diese Unterkunft.

Wunderschönes AirBnb mit allem was man benötigt. Wir haben uns direkt zu Hause gefühlt. Nahe an der Station und man gelangt zu Fuß überall schnell hin. Die Wohnung ist sehr zu empfehlen. Wir würden wieder kommen. Vielen Dank!

ที่พักอยู่ไกลเมืองหน่อยแต่มีความเป็นส่วนตัวดีมาก มีทั้งหมด 5 ห้องนอนหลับสบายทุกห้อง หิมะรอบบ้านเยอะมาก เจ้าของบ้านก็ดีตอบตลอดเวลา ขออะไรเพิ่มเติมไปก็จัดให้ได้ทุกอย่าง คุ้มค่ากับราคาที่จ่ายมากๆ

Wonderful experience staying at Villa Mitoreya. It's not your usual Airbnb, it's a lot more. The house is amazingly built with beautiful views and Tsuyoshi was an excellent host. He was present to welcome us, he went out of his way to drive us to a nearby restaurant so we didn't have to worry about parking and having a drink. His breakfast were delicious with many small details. It was like having a personal chef at home. We really enjoyed the peaceful environment and watching the local train pass in front of the house. It was like being in a Ghibli movie.
