There are also a wide range of traditional pubs, shops and restaurants, making Bourton perfect for guests of all ages. The village is surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside, and the many picturesque market towns and villages of the Cotswolds are all within easy reach, as are further afield places, such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Bath. Bourton-on-the-Water is arguably one of the most popular villages of the Cotswolds, especially amongst overseas visitors. Having been nicknamed the "Venice of the Cotswolds", its scenery is the main draw for travellers. The River Windrush meanders through beautiful English countryside before passing over rapids next to the Old Mill and arriving at Bourton. The river is fed from many springs, with the source approximately ten miles from the village and, after flowing under the bridges of Bourton, it passes other villages before eventually joining the Thames. There are various attractions in the village, including the famous Birdland, which is home to a variety of birds from around the world. Here visitors can see parrots, pelicans, flamingos and penguins to name just a few, with experienced keepers feeding the birds and leading demonstrations. The Model Village is well worth a visit, as Bourton is the only village in the Cotswolds to have a one-ninth scale replica of itself. It is carefully maintained and has all of the characterful buildings including the Old Water Mill and the Old New Inn. Those lucky enough to witness snow in the winter months will notice photographers at the model village trying to get the perfect picture of the snowy scene. Another family favourite is the Dragonfly Maze. This yew maze leads visitors through the labyrinth, gathering clues in order to find the pavilion in the centre which enables them to unlock the final secret! The maze was constructed by Kit Williams, author of the golden hare treasure hunt book, "Masquerade". Food & Drink Bourton has a variety of places to eat and drink, including cafes, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, with a range of prices to suit all budgets. The list below is a small sample of the options available: The Chester House Hotel and The Croft Restaurant (www.chesterhousehotel.com): Breakfast, morning coffee, lunches and evening meals in a riverside restaurant. You can enjoy freshly prepared, local produce throughout the day and night, with seasonal specials added to the menu daily. The Duke of Wellington (www.dukeofwellingtonbourton.co.uk): A local village inn aiming to provide fresh home cooked food with a friendly service. There is a light snacking menu, a full menu and a wonderful range of desserts and hot beverages. As well as daily home cooked specials, on Sundays you can enjoy a traditional carvery with all the trimmings from 12-6pm. The Mousetrap Inn (www.mousetrap-inn.com): A traditionally run Cotswold stone Inn, with a history dating back to the building of the railways in the 18th Century. Serving home-made food, along with fantastic, locally brewed real ales. The Village Restaurant & Tearooms (www.thevillagerestaurant.co.uk): Traditional, home cooked food in a friendly atmosphere, overlooking the river Windrush, in the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water.

Gracias Heidi!

A cosy Shepherd Hut, named Ronald, set in 60 acres of tranquil Cotswold countryside. Glamping at its finest with all the comforts of home in the great outdoors. Conveniently located 5 minutes drive from Moreton in Marsh, with direct train links to Oxford and London. Durhams Farm is home to over 30 much-loved horses and ponies. Horse riding experiences are available whilst you stay. The perfect location for couples, adventurers and equine enthusiasts.
Camping may not be at the top of everyone’s list during the winter months but Ronald is a very reasonable alternative. We’ve kitted him out with hot and cold running water, heating and electricity too, so you can relax and enjoy all of the comforts of home, in the great outdoors. Ronald has a comfy fitted double bed, with storage underneath and all of your bed linen and towels are provided. The kitchenette is stocked with crockery and cutlery, a kettle, an electric single hob, toaster, fridge and sink. There is private seating outside your hut with beautiful views surrounding. Great for stargazing and the sunsets at the farm are beautiful. During the winter months, radiators will be added to keep you warm. There is a heated shower room a short walk (25metres) from the Huts in a blue cabin. Here, guests have shared (max 4 guests at any one time) access to a shower, WC and sink. Ideal for couples, friends and solo travellers! We have two huts available at Durhams - great for group trips! Apologies, we do not accept bookings for young children (under 10) and/or pets. Wifi is not available in the Hut but can be accessed on the farm all day. Visit the riding school reception to connect your device.
Our Shepherd Hut is set in a stunning part of the Cotswolds within easy reach of picturesque towns such as Bourton on the Water and Stow on the Wold. Stratford upon Avon, Cheltenham and Warwick are both within a 40 minute drive. There are miles of bridleways and footpaths to explore in the surrounding area and some great local pubs and restaurants. Daylesford Organic is 3 miles away too and well worth a visit whilst you stay.

Voted "England's Favourite Village" in 2004 by Country Life magazine, Kingham is a beautiful, unspoilt Cotswold village, with a large open green and some elegant stone and thatch cottages, mostly dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is situated in the Evenlode valley, a short drive from the well known Cotswold market towns of Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Norton. There has been a church on the site of St. Andrew's Church for at least 900 years, although the present building is a mixture of ages. The font is 13th century, the Perpendicular Gothic tower 15th century, the nave roof is dated 1774 and the rest of the church was remodelled in 1851-3. The church also has a fine old rectory, built in the 17th century. Kingham has two highly regarded pubs, a village shop and is just a mile away from Daylesford Organic, which is well known for its organic food, cookery school and spa. Kingham is also the only village in the Cotswolds that is served by a main line railway station, which provides regular services to London Paddington station. Food & Drink Kingham is fortunate to be blessed with two of the best village pubs in the whole of the Cotswolds, as well as a welcoming hotel, and is just a mile away from the well known Daylesford Organic Farm: The Wild Rabbit (www.thewildrabbit.co.uk): Owned by Lord and Lady Bamford, and described as "the poshest pub in Britain", the Wild Rabbit has been totally refurbished and boasts a total of three real fires in its dining room and separate bar. The menu reflects the seasons and celebrates everything that is great about local produce. All ingredients are carefully selected for their quality and are organic, where possible; The Kingham Plough (www.thekinghamplough.co.uk): The Kingham Plough has established a well deserved reputation as an outstanding dining pub and has deservedly been recognised by numerous awards bestowed by various different bodies. The modern British food is inspirational, not your ordinary Gastro-Pub menu, where everything is prepared from scratch by a team of skilled chefs. Headed by chef-owner Emily Watkins and head chef Ben Dulley, the menu offers an exciting take on English classics. The kitchen is dedicated to making the most of the carefully sourced local ingredients and everything from the charcuterie to the baked beans in the award winning breakfast is proudly made by hand. Kingham also has a village store, selling a wide range of everyday products, including fresh items, beers, wines and spirits, groceries and confectionery. There are regular farmers' markets held in the village, throughout the year.

The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

Chipping Norton, better known as "Chippy" by locals, is a well-known market town in the Cotswolds which has been runner up in the Great British High Street awards for small market town for the last two years. Once the site of a Norman castle, the town is the highest in Oxfordshire and has a number of notable buildings to visit. The Town Hall proudly marks the days when the town was a Borough. It was built in 1842 and used to host the poultry and butter markets on Wednesdays, as well as the Corn Exchange. It was also used for entertainment and auctions and lucky visitors may catch a glimpse of a bride and groom as the hall is licensed for weddings. A picturesque row of traditional Cotswold stone cottages can be found in the town which were once almshouses given to Chippy by puritan Henry Cornish. The almshouses are set back from the road and are entered through a grand archway which has elaborate finials and cresting. Another standout building is Bliss Mill. It dates back to the 1870s and was once used in the manufacturing of wool and tweed for cloth manufacturer William Bliss. The mill was designed to look like a country house, but has the large chimney at one end for which it is recognised. It is now a Grade II listed building and was converted into luxury apartments in the 1980s. Being a relatively small town, it comes as a surprise to many to find a theatre in Chipping Norton. The team put on an array of productions including theatre, music, comedy and the annual pantomime. As well as live performances, the theatre also screens a range of classic, art house and foreign language films. Food & Drink As one of the main market towns in the Cotswolds, Chipping Norton has a wide variety of places to eat and drink, catering for most tastes and budgets. The list below is a small sample, to give a flavour for the various options available: Wild Thyme Restaurant (www.wildthymerestaurant.co.uk): Offering exciting modern British food and relaxed friendly service, complemented by three stylish rooms, this is a special place to enjoy great food and wine with family and friends. The Chequers (www.chequers-pub.com): The Chequers was built in medieval times at the entrance to the market place and is thought to date back to the late 1500s as a pub, when it was identified by a sign of a blue anchor outside. The main bar is situated amongst four seating areas. In the absence of any electronic games machines, pool tables or juke boxes, the traditional pub styling of yesteryear is recalled. A blazing log fire in the winter creates a cosy atmosphere. There is also a separate restaurant area. Whistlers Café Bar & Restaurant (www.whistlersrestaurant.co.uk): The owners of Whistlers are passionate about food and passionate about entertaining. Open during the day as well as for evening meals, Whistlers has a range of breakfasts, through to lighter snacks and lunchtime treats, as well as a great range of hot drinks and cakes to help you while away the hours. Café Le Raj (www.cafeleraj.net): A contemporary Indian restaurant, where top quality ingredients and fragrant herbs and spices are used to create sumptuous dishes. Chipping Norton also has many food shops, ranging from small, family run places, to a Co-op and a Sainsbury's.

Beautiful Cotswolds Cottage with inglenook fireplace with working log burner. The whole cottage has been renovated with some unusual touches. The perfect retreat for a few days or longer. The cottage has a private garden. It is a short walk from a small supermarket and a critically acclaimed pub/restaurant. Situated just off the village green in a popular area of the Cotswolds between Chipping Norton and Burford.
I've always said I'd like to put my money where my mouth is and provide a beautiful holiday accommodation where guests literally race from room to room to discover what else the property has to offer. I'm hoping this is it. The main bedroom is a good size and has a king size bed, the second bedroom is a lot smaller and the double bed can only be accessed from one side. If 2 couples I can see you flipping a coin!
A beautiful area of the Cotswolds between Chipping Norton and Burford. So many excellent places to visit, eat and shop at. Small supermarket and a critically acclaimed Pub/restaurant a few minutes walk from the cottage
  • ¡Gran lugar! Fantástico pub (The Hare) y supermercado cerca.

The Sanctuary forms part of a converted church with an enviable position just moments from the market square in the picturesque market town of Stow-on-the-Wold. Sitting on top a hill, surrounded by the stunning Cotswold countryside, Stow is famous for its historic buildings and its wide range of restaurants, traditional pubs and antique shops. It is an ideal base for exploring the region, including the many lovely towns and villages of the Cotswolds, as well as further afield places such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Bath. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
The main door of the building opens into a communal lobby and The Sanctuary’s front door opens into a hallway, off which are the following rooms, all with underfloor heating: Living/dining room/kitchen: This smart open plan living space has been finished to a high standard with wooden floors and a high west-facing window which floods the living area with natural light. There is a sofa bed, a Smart TV with access to Netflix and a DVD player. An extendable wooden table with seating for four divides the living area and kitchen, and the latter has Shaker-style units and is equipped with an electric oven, four-ring induction hob, fridge, toaster, kettle, cafetière, water filter and dishwasher; Cloakroom: Contains a toilet and wash basin. Stairs lead up from the hallway into the master bedroom. The following rooms are on the first floor, both with underfloor heating: Master bedroom: This unique room has a stunning church window and a glass balcony overlooking the living area below. This room contains either two single beds or a king size bed, an elegant chest of drawers, a mirror, a writing desk with a comfy chair and radio; Family bathroom: This stunning space is dominated by the original floor-to-ceiling stone arched window, complemented by smart flooring and stylish tiles. It contains a walk-in rain shower with handheld shower attachment, toilet and wash basin. There is free on-street parking a short walk from the property, and there are pay and display options close by if needed.
Located in the north Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold is one of the principal market towns in the region. The main feature of the town is the historic market square which used to play host to the annual sheep fairs where, at the height of the Cotswold wool industry, up to 20,000 sheep were sold at one time. The market square is steeped in history and has two features which date back to the medieval period. At one end of the square there is the medieval cross which was erected to urge traders to carry out fair business under the eyes of God, and at the far end stand the town stocks which are found in the shadows of the old elm tree. Originally known as Edwardstow or Stow St Edward after the town's patron saint Edward, the town's church is also named after him. The church is just 100 yards from the town square and is a lovely place for locals and tourists alike to get some peace from the bustling market square. The north door is guarded by two yew trees and is a focal point of the town. Stow has traditional narrow alleyways, or "tures" as they were once known, which wind their way through the centre of the town. It is these same alleyways that were once used to channel the sheep to the fair. Another point of interest in the town is the well in Well Lane which is now a Grade II Listed Building. As a result of the rather unique geology of the area, water held in the higher layers of the limestone bursts out of various fissures on the slopes and two do still work as wells now. Food & Drink Stow has numerous places to eat and drink, with a range of cuisines and prices to suit all tastes and budgets. The list below is a small sample of the range of options available: The Queens Head Inn (www.donnington-brewery.com/the_queens_head_stow_on_the_wold): The Queens Head is a traditional town pub, owned by the local Donnington brewery. Here locals mix with tourists who are unsurprisingly attracted into this lovely old pub. Good traditional pub food and ale, in a great atmosphere; The Sheep (www.thesheepstow.co.uk): A seasonal menu with pizzas being a major focus. There is a wood-fired oven in the restaurant, where you can watch your freshly made pizza cook; The Talbot: Laid back drinking, eating and coffees in a traditional meeting place for the town slap bang in the Square. Sofas, original paintings, rickety old tables and chairs, with staff who are under the threat of death if they are not friendly! White Hart (www.thewhitehartstow.com): A 'boutique' style Inn, which has recently been beautifully refurbished throughout. The Inn boasts two cosy bars, lots of open fires and an atmospheric dining room. Hearty food is served during the day, with finer dining in the evening. All food is sourced locally and prepared on the premises; The Bell (www.thebellatstow.com): The Bell at Stow is the perfect country pub. Behind the ivy-clad façade lies a charming, stylish interior with the warmest of welcomes. A favourite with the locals, The Bell is open all day every day offering everything from a pint of well-kept cask ale through to a delicious three-course supper. Stow has a Tesco and a Co-op for regular food purchases and, for special treats, there is a traditional butcher's shop and a number of delicatessens specialising in local produce, including: Lambournes Butchers (www.lambournesbutchers.co.uk): A family owned, multi-award winning traditional butchers, renowned for locally-produced meat, poultry and game, sourced from hand-picked suppliers. Referring to the owner, the BBC's Adam Henson has observed that "what Bob doesn't know about sausages isn't worth knowing"; Cotswold Food Store and Café (www.cotswoldfoodstore.co.uk): The Cotswold Food Store and Café offers a huge variety of delicious local foods, ranging from locally sourced vegetables, meat, eggs and bread to charcuterie, hams and pates in its deli counter. The adjoining café offers freshly prepared meals by resident chef Sonya Kidney, along with home-made cakes, biscuits and light bites; Hamptons Fine Foods (www.hamptons-hampers.co.uk): Hamptons offer a wide range of quality foods to discerning customers. The shelves are packed with exclusive and delicious fine foods that one would not normally find in the mass outlets. A veritable Aladdin's cave. Hamptons specialise in gourmet hampers which can be collected from their shop or delivered direct.

Welcome to Court Hayes, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Court Hayes was originally two cottages, which have been lovingly restored, to create a large and interesting two bedroomed property. The Cotswold stone cottage sits in the picturesque and peaceful village of Wyck Rissington, across the road from the 800 year old St Laurence's church, where the famous composer, Gustav Holst, was the resident organist between 1892 and 1893. Court Hayes is perfectly placed for exploring the Cotswolds, whether by car or on foot, and is close to the beautiful market towns of Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
Court Hayes front door opens into: Living room: A beautiful room, with an abundance of character. Contains a large inglenook fireplace, with a real fire, exposed stone walls, wooden beams and the original flagstone floor. There is a Freeview TV with DVD player, a writing desk and comfy seating for four guests. There is a lobby between the living room and the dining room, with a door out to the garden. Dining room: Contains another inglenook fireplace, with an ornamental stove, wooden floors and wooden beams. There is a dining table with seating for four; Kitchen: Accessed through the dining room, the new, well equipped kitchen contains a 4 ring electric hob, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, kettle and toaster. There is door out to the garden and a good sized pantry, which is also used as a cloakroom. The bedrooms are accessed via two different flights of stairs, one leading up from the living room to: Bedroom 1: A beautiful room, surrounded by exposed stone walls, wooden beams and a stone fireplace (not for use as a real fire). Contains a king size bed. Narrow stairs, with restricted height, lead up from bedroom 1 to: En-suite bathroom: In the eaves of the house, with exposed stone walls and wooden beams, contains a claw foot bath with shower attachment, basin and toilet. Stairs lead up from the dining room to: Bedroom 2: A large, eaves room, with beautiful exposed beams, which contains two single beds. There is a small shower room and a separate room, with a toilet and small basin. The large, enclosed garden is to the rear of the house, backing onto farmland. There is a patio area, with a charcoal barbecue, an outdoor table and seating for four. The lawn then runs down to a further, separately enclosed wildlife area, with a pond and a summer house.

Gracias Jane y Nigel, definitivamente me quedaré aquí otra vez

Welcome to Bury Fields Cottage, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Bury Fields Cottage is a modern barn conversion and despite its rural appearance, the property is just a short walk from the centre of Bourton-on-the-Water, also known as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’, due to the River Windrush that flows peacefully though the village. Bourton has a wide range of traditional pubs, shops and restaurants and is surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside, and the many picturesque market towns and villages of the Cotswolds are all within easy reach, as are further afield places, such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Bath. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!

Esperamos otra visita.

North House is a lovely terraced property set on a quiet road in the centre of Bourton-on-the-Water. The front door opens directly into the open plan living space which is laid out as follows: Living/dining room: This dual aspect room is divided into two areas by the impressive staircase which descends from the first floor. The welcoming living room has a sofa, two leather armchairs, a wall-mounted Smart TV and an ornamental fireplace and the dining room on the other side of the floating staircase has an Oak effect dining table with seating for four and a second ornamental fireplace; Kitchen: The compact yet well-equipped kitchen overlooks the garden and contains an electric oven with four-ring induction hob, a fridge with a small freezer compartment, a compact dishwasher, microwave, slow cooker, kettle, toaster and coffee machine. The wooden staircase leads up from the main living area to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Master bedroom: This lovely spacious room, with high ceiling and views of the lane below, has a double wrought iron bed, a pretty vanity table and a freestanding wardrobe; Bedroom 2: With a lovely feature Victorian fireplace and dual aspect views, this pretty room has two single beds, a vanity table and a built-in wardrobe; Family bathroom: Contains a bath with an overhead shower, toilet and wash basin. The back door in the kitchen leads out into the lovely enclosed garden which has a large patio area with a bistro table and chairs on one side and a Rattan lounge set with a sofa and two armchairs on the other. The patio looks out over the lawn, bordered by colourful flower beds and shrubs, and with the provision of the charcoal barbecue this is a wonderful setting for al fresco dining. There is off street parking for two cars on the gravel driveway at the front of the property.

Recomiendo encarecidamente North Cottage

Friday evenings are legendary for the Champagne Happy Hour at 5pm - grab a seat if you can as the weekend gets off to the perfect start!

Volveré a reservar :) Muchas gracias Mate

¡gracias!

Welcome to Causeway Cottage, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Causeway Cottage is a delightful Grade II listed property which sleeps six guests, in three well presented bedrooms, with two bathrooms. Dating back to the mid-17th century, the property has an abundance of character features including exposed wooden beams, a stone mullion window, terracotta tiling in the kitchen and two inglenook fireplaces, one of which has a wood burning stove. To complement these traditional features, the property has been finished in a contemporary style with the addition of modern facilities such as wireless internet access, a Smart TV and a well-equipped kitchen. Built from original Cotswold stone, Causeway Cottage has a beautiful exterior to match its interior, with a wonderful wisteria trailing across the porch and living room windows, and dormer windows on the first floor which offer lovely views across the garden. The enchanting garden is an excellent spot to socialise with friends and family in the warmer months and there is off-street parking for up to three cars on the gravel driveway. Causeway Cottage is situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Old Minster Lovell, an unspoilt village with a mixture of attractive thatched and Cotswold stone cottages. The village benefits from a well-regarded pub, the Old Swan, which prides itself on its use of local ingredients, and the 12th century parish church of St Kenelm is just a short walk away from the cottage. Alongside the church lie the extensive ruins of Minster Lovell Hall, a former 15th century manor house which is now a Grade 1 listed building maintained by English Heritage. Old Minster Lovell is also home to Minster Mill, a luxury hotel with a spa and restaurant which members of the public can utilise by appointment only. The larger residential settlement of New Minster is just a ten minute walk away, with another popular pub and a local shop. Located within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are many local walks and cycle trails to explore, including those along the River Windrush which flows through the village itself. Old Minster Lovell is well placed for visiting many of the charming towns and villages of the Cotswolds including the medieval market town of Burford with its wide range of eateries, and the scenic village of Bourton-on-the-Water, often referred to as the “Venice of the Cotswolds” due to the many arching bridges which cross over the River Windrush. The popular tourist destinations of Blenheim Palace, birthplace of Winston Churchill, Cirencester and Oxford are within easy reach for day trips. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!

The following rooms are located on the ground floor: Living/dining room: This bright, dual aspect room is a warm and inviting space and has a wealth of character features including exposed wooden beams and original wooden flooring. This spacious room contains an inglenook fireplace with cosy wood burning stove, a three-seater sofa and two leather armchairs. There is also a wall-mounted Smart TV with DVD player, a small selection of books and board games, an ornamental inglenook fireplace and a wooden dining table which comfortably seats six; Snug: Adjacent to the dining area is the cosy snug, a peaceful spot offering wonderful garden views through the beautiful stone mullion window. This area contains a comfy leather armchair; Kitchen: The well presented country-style kitchen has striking exposed beams and terracotta tiles and is ideal for home cooking. It contains an electric Aga (available in the winter months only), an electric oven with four-ring induction hob, a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, cafetière, kettle and toaster. There is also a large larder and a wooden breakfast table with seating for six; Utility room/cloakroom: Contains a washing machine, tumble dryer, toilet and wash basin. A spiral staircase with a handrail leads up from the inner hall between the dining area and kitchen to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Master bedroom: Overlooking the garden and country pub opposite, this spacious dual aspect bedroom contains a super king size bed, chest of drawers, two bedside tables for storage and wall hooks for hanging space. There is a bright, contemporary ensuite bathroom which contains a bath with overhead rain shower, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail; Bedroom 2: With exposed wooden beams and views across to the village pub, this tastefully decorated bedroom contains a king size bed, chest of drawers, coat stand and hooks for storage, as well as a wall mirror and a pretty window seat and wooden chair; Bedroom 3: Overlooking the street below, this cosy bedroom contains two single beds, a chest of drawers, coat stand and small selection of books; Family bathroom: The spacious family bathroom contains a large walk-in rain shower, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail. The stunning south facing garden spans a third of an acre and is mostly laid to lawn with a variety of mature trees along its border, giving privacy from the village playing field beyond. Directly outside the kitchen there is a paved patio area with an outdoor table with seating for six, as well as two comfy chairs looking out over the lawn. The patio is bordered by a low dry-stone wall, which itself is bordered by fragrant lavender, and in the late spring the gorgeous wisteria and climbing flowers add splashes of colour to the Cotswold stone exterior. A second patio can be found beneath the mature trees at the side of the garden and this area contains a charcoal barbecue and two sun loungers. Just off the driveway is a double garage which houses a large table tennis table and croquet set. The gravel driveway has off-street parking for up to three cars.

Welcome to Middle Gable The Old Hall, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Middle Gable The Old Hall is one of the most picturesque and historic properties in the Cotswolds, forming part of an original 17th century manor house, dating from the time of the English Civil War, over 350 years ago. This grade II* listed property sits in peaceful gardens, in the heart of the famous Cotswolds market town of Bourton-on-the-Water, often referred to as the "Venice of the Cotswolds". This lovely town has numerous shops, restaurants and pubs, and is ideally located for exploring the entire Cotswolds region and beyond. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
Middle Gable The Old Hall is accessed via its garden, which leads to the beautiful wooden front door. Inside the house, a small entrance hall leads into: Living room: A grand room, which has been newly refurbished in a traditional style, enhancing the abundance of period features, including stone mullion windows, a large fireplace with wood-burning stove, wooden beams and a centuries old alcove. The refurbishment includes a limestone flagged floor, with underfloor heating, and the provision of a flat screen satellite TV and Blu-ray home theatre system with an iPod docking station. The living room then leads into the Inner Hall, which in turn leads to: Shower room: Contains a shower, basin and toilet; Kitchen/dining room: The kitchen is well equipped, including a cooker with hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and washer dryer. There is a good sized dining table, with five chairs, and the layout of the room ensures that all guests can socialise whilst cooking is in progress. Returning to the Inner Hall, a grand wooden staircase leads up to the first floor hallway, off which are: Bedroom 1: The initial highlight of the room is the spectacular super-king size four poster bed and this impressive room also has what is believed to be the original wooden flooring, stone mullion windows and the original “wig and gown” cupboard. There is a flat panel satellite TV in the room; Bathroom: Contains a bath with shower attachment, basin and toilet. The staircase then continues up into the gable of the house, giving access to: Bedroom 2: A very spacious, dual aspect eaves bedroom, with beautiful original wooden beams. The room contains three single beds, two of which can be pushed together and one of which doubles up as a sofa (it is a full size adult bed, however). Heading back downstairs and out of the front door, the lovingly cared for open plan gardens spread out in front of you. In Middle Gable The Old Hall’s garden, extending from the front of the house, there is a bench, for relaxing and looking out over all the gardens, as well as a paved seating area, which contains an outdoor table and chairs. At the end of the garden is a double garage for guest use.
