This was an absolute haven of peace and tranquillity The hut was filled with lots of lovely touches Rachael is sweet, helpful and thoughtful My Daughter, Grandchildren and myself loved every minute. the children did not want to leave, some tears shed. They said it was their favourite holiday, where else could they feed the horses in the morning with their pyjama's and wellies on.

We had a fantastic stay at the cabin whilst on a weekend getaway. Stella kindly left clear instructions of how to get to the cabin, left a heater on for us so we were cosy from the get go on the arrival which was fantastic after a cold windy February day exploring the local sites! The cabin was extremely comfortable and cosy, we loved the privacy and were able to ‘switch off’ from our busy daily lives - a perfect break which allowed us to relax and enjoy ourselves. The cabin was also in great proximity to a variety of locations - we managed to explore Carlisle, Hadrian’s Wall and the Gretna Green outlet whilst staying at Stella’s cabin. Thank you Stella and would highly recommend our stay to others!

Remote and peaceful location but within a drive of many beautiful scenic places. We loved feeding the horses and sitting on the wooden decking eating and drinking. The big double bed is super comfy and the little hut has all the basic necessities. A lovely play to relax and great for doggies. Host was there to greet us and messaged in advance to make sure everything was set up!

The Shepherds hut was lovely and clea and very well equipped. Location was lovely, off grid, limited phone access. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, horses in the paddock next door. Great fire pit too. A car would have been nice but we arrived by train and took a taxi to the site. Lovely walk to local pub, about 6 miles away. Would definitely stay again it was so peaceful. THANK YOU Matthew for possibly our favourite long weekend ever. A wonderful destress from the pace of the rest of life. A beautiful setting which exceeded our expectations. Access to some wonderful mountain biking and incredible beaches and history on tap through so many castles. We said we would tell everyone it was truly terrible so no one else comes ….and we keep this secret to ourselves - but you were the perfect host so we couldn’t do it to you in the end…a wonderful stay

John has managed to create something simple yet exceptional with The Wrack & Croy. It's a little slice of heaven that allows you to connect with nature and yourself. You've likely never seen the night sky so brilliantly bright, with stars scattered like white confetti across a black canvas. Nor have you experienced silence so deep and surreal, broken only by the occasional bird's chirp or a sheep's bleat. The grounds are completely private and undisturbed, and it’s easy to feel like you’re the last person on earth. The location is also accessible via public transport, and John's directions to the farm were impeccable. He was kind enough to drop me off at the train station when I left and is truly an absolute sweetheart of a guy. I loved chatting with him and learning more about what inspired him to create and share this delightful place. I cannot recommend The Wrack & Croy highly enough and will undoubtedly be planning another visit soon.

A wonderful place to stay - cosy, clean & dark skies Julie & Paul were very welcoming and helpful with directions and local knowledge. Communication was great and gave clear directions. And we were allowed to meet their dogs, who were adorable. We stayed for a few nights but with the separate kitchen (sun room) and outside space you could easily stay for much longer in comfort. The local area is beautiful & so peacefully quiet. Julie & Paul put together a binder of local knowledge and when followed the recommendation to go for a walk around Cuthbert’s cave - brilliant, although we definitely lucked out with a dry, warm sunset. Highly recommend visiting

I would highly recommend this place to anyone that wants to get away and relax. The views surrounding the hut are amazing and so peaceful. The Shepard’s hut is super cozy and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and didn’t want to leave. Chris gave clear instructions about everything and checking in and out was super simple. If this is available and you’re looking to stay you won’t be disappointed.

This place is amazing and even better in person! The location is stunning and tranquil while being so close by to Alnmouth and Alnwick. Very clean and has everything you’ll need. 10/10

My partner and I had the most wonderful few days at The Köre - it's so peaceful and a beautiful place to stay from the natural environment to the Shepherd's hut itself. Matthew was a super friendly and helpful host and we will definitely be returning!

We were blown away with the location when we arrived for our stay, Deborah and Peter welcomed us on arrival and showed us around, talked to us about local restaurants and things to do (which there was also lots of information in a folder in the accommodation with even more suggestions of things to do in the area). They were super friendly and responded really quickly when we had messaged on the app prior to our stay and while we were there. The location was incredible; tranquil with a wonderful view of the sunrise, but close enough to lots of lovely villages, pubs and Berwick-Upon-Tweed. Inside the hut was immaculate, Deborah and Peter have really thought about everything you may need and more for your stay, and the layout was spacious and designed superbly. We would love to come and stay here again!

Lovely and cosy place to stay! Hot tub was heated and ready for us arriving, and was tucked away beside the hut behind some trees, so very private. We needed firewood for our fire which was available to purchase, the firewood hadn’t been re-stocked on this occasion and within 5mins the owner was out with barrow full of logs for us. Very prompt and kind. Some previous reviews mention the noise from the road being too loud, me being someone who needs silence to sleep and who wears earplugs, I didn’t find the noise too loud and slept peacefully. Would definitely stay again ☺️ Thanks again!

It was absolutely fantastic all round. quaint area and place. All the included facilities were nothing sort of brilliant. Our stay was exceptional. It was exactly what was needed to unwind and relax... simply perfection. Thank you... We will most certainly be back!

Everything was just as described. The shepherds hut had everything we needed for a bank holiday weekend and a lot of care had been put into making our stay special. The hut is in really lovely tranquil spot in an area not many tourists get to - the peace and quiet was just what we needed. Sitting in the afternoon sun was just blissful. We also visited Eyemouth, Coldingham Sands, Berwick Upon Tweed, Haddington and North Berwick - so plenty of interesting places nearby to see all not too far away - as well as some really nice local walks.

We can’t stop talking about how much we enjoyed our stay! Everything was perfect! Rosie and her niece greeted us on arrival and were ever so friendly. We felt so secluded, but it’s just a short walk to rothbury. We’re already talking about booking up again later in the year. Thank you again

Amazing place. A little cozy if you are bringing a medium/ big four legged friend. But otherwise it had all the essentials for a pleasant stay, it was very clean and well maintained. The check in was super flexible, which is a plus, and we received very clear instructions of how to find the place. Amazing views too!

The setting is quiet and peaceful, and you are very well placed to see all the sights. Everyone involved in running the site are so friendly and helpful. The hut itself was immaculately clean and beautifully interior designed with exquisite detail in the choice of fixtures, fittings and colours - even the elegant plates and cups complimented the colour scheme of the walls. The only downside is that it really is very snug, so you do have to have top class Jenga puzzle skills, but it is a great place to stay overall.

Me and my partner have just returned from a weekend stay at Roses Bowes Cottage - and it was absolutely stunning! We were greeted by Lewis on arrival who was so friendly and shared lots of info about the area and good walks we could go on. Inside the cottage was so cosy and peaceful - a perfect break from day-to-day life. It was also so cute seeing all the farm animals, just adorable! Plus, the hot tub was perfect after a long day walking, with the best views! Will definitely be back 😄

Such a sweet and cosy shepherds hut in peaceful surroundings. We loved getting off grid for the night and the hut and facilities were clean, neat and tidy. Emma and Oli were super responsive hosts and easy to find and check in and out. A great place to stay for exploring the wall and the beautiful surrounding countryside.
