The cozy venue is beautifully located, offering all the comforts of a small Cape Cod cottage on the salt marsh. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, ensuring that everything was available for a comfortable stay and making themselves accessible at any time. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a super unique, peaceful retreat that has convenient access to endless activities. The property is situated in a unique, serene location with easy walking access to local parks and a variety of quality restaurants. The water is perfect for paddling to explore the large area of connected coves. It’s a short distance to the Cape Cod Canal Railroad Bridge and the canal trail. There's little need to leave the property but there is much close by to explore. I'm looking forward to returning to experience everything again, and maybe, experience and discover even more next time.

Thank you to our wonderful hosts at the Onset Compound for an incredible stay! The home is located in a picture perfect waterfront setting with all of the amenities a beach house offers. The hosts recommended some great restaurants and things to do that kept us busy all weekend. The home is sparkling clean and we felt right at home!

The cottage was perfect. It was a peaceful place to relax and unwind. This nestled little gem was quaint, surrounding us in exposed wood beams. The windows and screened porch allowed us to view nature, including birds, bunnies and even deer. The grocery store is in close proximity and was easy to get to. The host met us when we arrived, and was friendly and inviting. We are so glad we were able to stay.

Maureen's cozy beach getaway was just what our family needed to relax and unwind. Everything was as described, and Maureen was a wonderful host. The house is nestled back from the road (which is a quiet dead end), and it feels very private and peaceful. The location is just perfect, with a short walk to a sandy section of Sagamore Beach. Walks along the lengthy beach are perfect any time but especially at low tide on the sand bars. We carried some kayaks and paddle boards down to the beach for some glorious sunset paddling. You can easily bike from Maureen's onto the canal bike path where you'll see boats traveling through all day. What a beautiful location to make unforgettable memories.

Great spot for the weekend !

Meredith is a wonderful host. She has a list of information available, plenty of common space inside and out, and has made a number of convenience upgrades (Dishwasher, Washing Machine, ...) recently. She is timely with responses should you have any questions before or during your stay. Having direct access to the state park was beautiful. It felt like you were in Vermont and down the Cape at the same time. Northern and Southern Shore beaches are both easily accessible with the Northern being about 5 mins vs 10 mins. Our extended family of 6 were very comfortable and had a great time.

We had a wonderful stay at John's cottage #1 in the pine's. It's a vintage and unique space for Chatham. It was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable time. John is friendly and chatty and has lots of recommendations for your time in the area. Our favorite things were quick evening walks to the beach with our 4 year old and the peaceful energy of being surrounded in nature. We saw 2 foxes and lots of rabbits and birds. John even gave our son a ride on his golf cart! You can't beat the deal for this cozy spot and we were so appreciative of what John is continuing to do with Pleasant Forest Cottages.

Merci John de nous avoir loué votre cottage pour notre séjour! Le quartier est très charmant, la localisation est idéal, tranquille plage à 10 minutes à pied. La véranda avec moustiquaire était plaisante! Peut être y ajouter une chaise avec dossier pourrait la rendre plus confortable. Espace bien aménagée pour une famille de 2 adultes et 2 enfants. Mon lit n’était pas le plus confortable mais j’ai connu pire. John répondait à toutes nos questions et était très avenant. Le cottage était très bien ranger, bien entretenu et propre. Il faut savoir que tout est assez rudimentaire et très vieux/ d’origine. Donc usure, rouille, éléments de bases seulement et beaucoup de vécu! Ne pas oublier d’apporter tout ce dont vous avez besoin en terme de serviettes car rien de fourni, ni même un tapis de bain et papier toilette. Beaucoup de consignes et règles à respecter à la lettre. Un peu trop pour nous qui, de nature sommes respectueux. On s’est sentis moins à l’aise du à cela.

As soon as you turn off the road into PFS you are transported to another time, a shady retreat, a slower pace. The bright red Swedish style cottages with white trim are so retro and beyond charming, outfitted minimally to keep things simple - only what you need, nothing you don’t. Even with the other cottages in relatively close proximity, it felt pretty private. Our cottage was the perfect size for my little family of 3 (and note my hubby is around 6’7” and comfortably cleared all ceilings/doors!). Our toddler loved using the swing set / jungle gym on the property, especially when a family of turkeys decided to join us! Our days were packed with typical Cape Cod activities and evenings were spent out on the screened in porch playing cards, dominoes and board games. Beaches were very close and Ridgevale’s calm tide pool was especially great for our little one. Grocery and package stores close by. Could barely fit all our thrift store finds into the car when it was time to go. The owner John is a hoot, his parents built the place with love and he continues maintaining it as such, a couple weeks later our kiddo still talks about the golf cart ride he kindly took her on, and we connected with a wonderful neighbor who has been staying there for years who lent us items we forgot. PFS is not only a very magical place but an incredible deal, so glad I found it and we truly hope to return every year and make it a family tradition!!

These cottages are fantastic! In addition to the great location and reasonable prices, they are extremely clean and well kept. The best part about the cottages, however, is the proprietor, Mr. John Hallgren. John is on site to assist you at a moment's notice with anything you might need. We enjoyed chatting with him about the wonderful history of the cottages, and he has great local recommendations as well for things to do and see. We very much hope to return next summer, as our family (including 2 small children) had a fantastic, memorable stay. Thank you, John for all that you do!

Our stay in Wellfleet was fantastic, and we would highly recommend this Airbnb to others. It’s an ideal spot for a relaxing getaway, with excellent amenities and hosts who truly care about their guests’ experiences. The house was very clean and resembled the pictures and the description on Airbnb. PB bakery is less than 5 minutes away and is one of the best French bakeries that I have ever been to. A perfect spot for morning coffee and a pastry! Thank you for a memorable stay!
