We ( myself and 2 of my friends) stayed here for a dog sports event nearby and David was very generous to let us stay, and include our 9 total dogs. Cozy little cabin with all of the amenities and we had a great stay.

We loved our stay! We shared the cabin with another family and we had such an enchanted weekend there. The house is very comfortable and the big porch is incredible. The grounds were amazing, we loved exploring the cypress swamp, running in the woods and spending time up and down the creek. At night we built fires, star-gazed and enjoyed the hot-tub. Both the kids and adults had a great time.

We have stayed at several Airbnbs before, but never one like Timmy and Terese's. We immediately felt like family. Their generosity goes above and beyond. They were always willing to offer advised for things to do, places to go or where the best fishing may be. They had extensive knowlege of the area and always a good story to share. They truly wanted us to experience the Cajun culture and even shared some authentic Cajun meals with us. The pictures of the house and grounds don't do it justice. The house was clean and they made sure we had everything that we needed. The pool, the hot tub and the beatiful landscaping helped us relax and make the vacation more memorable. We went to their place with fishing and crabbing in mind. Timmy and Terese were always ready with recommendations on where to go. The choices are endless either in the bayou, the lakes or even in the back pond. We would definitely recommend this Cajun Paradise.

We had an amazing visit. Very secluded and private. Cabin was clean, cute, and roomy, but also cozy. Outdoor areas were beautiful and relaxing.

My girls loved this place! The house had plenty of amenities, and the owner was very responsive with the few questions we had. Easy check in and Easy to find because the instructions are very clear and precise. Not to far to hit up New Orleans and Baton Rouge located right between them, and then get home to a peaceful location! Would definitely stay there again

The cabin is located in a tranquil rural setting, and the hosts are friendly and easy to get in touch with. Both the Bogue Chitto State Park and supermarkets and restaurants are a relatively short 30-minute drive away. We enjoyed our stay here!

Staying at David's property is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to relax and enjoy time with family. Traveling from Brandon, Florida, to Bogalusa, Louisiana, is a big change, but it’s definitely worth it. The property is very family-friendly, with something for everyone—from toddlers to young adults—and plenty of room for adults to unwind, socialize, or even get some work done. I highly recommend David's place; both the staff and other guests are friendly, respectful, and helpful.

My family traveled here from Florida, and we absolutely adored this place! It was so easy to find and enter. It's actually so big and spacious, the pictures don't do it justice. It's so peaceful and relaxing exploring the land and we didn't want to leave. Terry was very accommodating and let us stay an extra day! We would deffinately love to stay again!

Steve was amazing, and very welcoming and friendly. The place is really gorgeous, especially the dock. You're right on the water, and you wake up to the beautiful sunrise out of the windows. You can fall asleep to the sounds of wildlife, and wake up rested and refreshed. Highly highly recomend.

Kaye is very clear and helpful both on instructions on Airbnb website and in person she left as many written instructions all around the place. Any even minor doubt or request or issue, she had a solution and she responded immediately and solved it in no time. AC was not bothering, plenty of Al the necessary to cook, sleep, clean. she respected my privacy while there and checked on me at arrival and departure to say hi/goodbye. she is eager to make the place even more welcoming so give her as much feedback as you can, she'll appreciate!

I truly enjoyed the "small life" afforded by the "cabin". I always enjoy interesting and non-conventional accommodations, and this stay did not disappoint. Abita Springs is a lovely town, and the Abita Coffee House is absolutely divine. When I head back to Covington, I will stay with D+S. Cheers!

Loved this place on the River. Jeanne’s home was very cozy, and clean. She had all the amenities, and it was a very easy check in. We enjoyed our stay, and the back porch, even in the rain! We didn’t use any of the chairs or the stuff for the River, but she is well stocked!! Loved that she had nice, cozy blankets and good towels!

Picture and descriptions were all accurate. It was a great place to base our fishing trips from. Would love to come back with my boat. Communication was great and was very the host was very accommodating with our requests.

Fatima's Son and Husband was extremely helpful and friendly when we first arrived. I was at the wrong cabin and Fatima responded immediately. And her family guided us. Fatima had the sweetest spirit ever. Very welcoming and The cabin is Perfect for 2 people but we made 3 work. Their website was extremely helpful with finding places to explore. The place was very peaceful only 22 mins from the French Quarters in New Orleans. They had the best rates during Mardi Gras. I loved the screened in Porch which made it perfect for a late night or early morning Meditation, read, or journal writing. I would definitely use this place again. Very Cozy.

This is a great stay away from crowed after going to Mardi Grass. The atmosphere was very pleasing. It's like 31 minutes from Bourbon street

We spent a month at Catie's cabin on the river and couldn't have been more pleased. The cabin is rustic and comfortable, not unlike something you would have been happy to find a generation ago, but absolutely modern with great wifi and cable TV. Lots of dishes, pots and pans, everything (and I mean everything) you might want. Very quiet on a dead-end road meaning there was no vehicle traffic. Just the occasional boat drifting by. Catie responded immediately if we had a question. This property is a real find and a bargain. We were delighted to find it.

Loved this place! Originally planned only one night but ended up staying 3. Great location if you have a car. I was able to do a swamp tour, see downtown New Orleans, and many other surrounding nature preserves and beach. Clean, private, safe. My dog seemed to like it too! Strongly recommend.

Very nice people. Site is located in a boat harbor. They are working very hard to rebuild after the last hurricane. They are rebuilding the on-site grocery store which we got to tour. They can help arrange fishing excursions. 10/10 recommend

Ellen Lago was a delightful surprise! A roomy cabin with old time charm offering all the necessities, plus much more! The view of the lake from the porch is spectacular! The private beach is amazing with kayaks, beach volleyball, fireplace, and covered sitting area! The lake water is so clear you can watch the fish swim! Ellen Lago is the perfect place for a quiet, relaxing, peaceful vacation. I felt at home and safe at Ell Lago! Jess is a wonderful host!
