Lovely bedroom and bathroom which were very nicely decorated and very clean. Dinner and breakfast at the pub were very tasty and good value. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great for just off the A66 which made an excellent stop off place. Would thoroughly recommend.

Only negative is that we couldn't stay for longer! We stayed in the Garden room for 1 night at the end of our trip to the Lakes but will definitely be returning when we're back in the area. Beautiful and quiet surroundings, perfect for our springer spaniel - the dog blankets were extra helpful to have! Thanks again 😊

We had a lovely stay! The room was clean and just what we needed, the pub was a lovely country pub with good food!

Pretty good location. Everything is just perfect considering the price, except the room is bit of cold, remember to bring warm clothes!

Booked at the last minute fory birthday - everything in our room was perfect and ready for us to check in early despite booking late in the night before - clean and tidy/the location is absolutely perfect close to the lake and the shops and pubs ect. Richard was a great host throughout and we even got to see the badgers in their front garden!

Excellent lodging in a lovely pub with a great selection of food and beers etc. Quiet location a couple of miles from Appleby centre. Highly recommended.

When I arrived they were very busy but were welcoming and made me feel right at home. The decor was lovely and very comfortable.

Raphaela and Steve were very helpful and pleasant. They encouraged us to let them know when we needed something. The cottage has a great bathroom and well-appointed kitchen and is very comfortable. We enjoyed the farm-like atmosphere—it’s so peaceful yet so close to amenities. And the grazing cows standing in the road to town were easily nudged with minimal mooing. We loved it!

We had a lovely couple of days at this beautiful cottage. The location is perfect, really close to the local pub where we had a delicious dinner. Lots of walking trails close by and great location if you want to do the three peaks. Samantha was really helpful and responsive. Definitely recommend and would love to stay again

A fantastic cottage spotlessly clean, well equipped and in a wonderful position. The owners live next door and were very welcoming and friendly. Upon our arrival there was milk, muffins, 7butter and a bottle of fizz. A great stay and we would not hesitate to go back.

Sarah and Brian were super friendly, accommodating and communication was very good. We booked last minute and had everything we needed for a very relaxing overnight stay on our journey from Scotland to home in Chepstow. I would highly recommend staying here and if we are ever in the area again, would definitely book to stay with them again.

James and Ruth kindly let me and all the other people that were here for the film festival stay on the last day of the festival so that we can finish the last movie and have late check out. Incredible experience living at this place!

We absolutely loved our stay here for a family weekend with the kids. So homely and clean, with lovely views straight into the water. Great selection of children’s games and everything you could need during your stay. Would love to return in summer for the water sports! Kimberley was so helpful and responded quickly to any questions we had. Would definitely recommend!

We had a great stay at Box Tree Escapes! The lodge was a perfect base camp for the Yorkshire Three Peaks, with the starting point being only a 20 min drive away. After our mammoth hike, the hot tub was a real life dream. It was even companied with a spectacular view of the milky way at night! It would have been even better if the lodge had body wash to compliment the fantastic showers! We would definitely come again.

My partner and I had a fabulous stay. We found Susan the host to be delightful and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. We even got to meet one of the local sheep when she popped into the village. Definitely recommend

For a solo traveler I felt safe and at home. The location is good especially if you want visit scafell pike with only being 30 mins away. I would definitely stay here again
