What a wonderful host! Jon was super helpful and communicative, as well as laid back and made sure we were right at home. The place was lovely. Clean sheets and super comfy beds, as well as cozy and warm. The kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials for cooking. He also has the nicest shower I’ve EVER had! It’s on a private, quiet street with lots of cafes and pubs nearby and as described in terms of distance to the city centre/castle etc. We walked there and it didn’t feel too long. 10/10 would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a lovely, home away from home, in one of the most beautiful cities in the world! Everything went smoothly and the flat was clean, spacious, and quiet. The amenities, like washer and dryer, were wonderful. While the location was slightly off the common "tourist path," we actually appreciated that and it was an easy bus ride or Uber back to the flat each night. We also enjoyed the local pub and the food choices nearby. My only issue was the lack of communication about the 3 flights of stairs/no lift. This fact is mentioned in other reviews (as I see now), but not in the description of the property nor in the initial instructions for accessing the flat. The stairs themselves are not Ben's fault and as I learned on my 14-day journey through Ireland and the UK, accessibility is not a priority in these old cities. That's fine. But the lesson for me I guess is to read reviews a little more closely, as that's the only place the stairs are mentioned. I have bad knees so trekking up the stairs each night after a long day was, quite simply, torture. But still a great stay.

The apartment is really bright and spacious and tastefully decorated. The living area and kitchen are perfect. The apartment has everything you need including a washing machine and dryer. Audrey explained everything very clearly to us when we arrived to drop off our luggage (the owners facilitated an early drop off before 4pm). In terms of improvements, the water boiler is quite noisy so if someone used the bathroom late, it could wake other guests. We would have appreciated shampoo in the bathroom - some of our party flew with hand luggage only with a small liquids allowance. We enjoyed our stay and it was convenient for the EICC, a 10-15 minute walk. The welcome breakfast pack was a nice touch. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, including Napoli-themed Pizzeria 1926 with delicious pizzas!

Elaine’s flat was absolutely perfect! Very comfortable, clean and extremely well equipped. It’s in a fantastic location with good local cafes and restaurants. We walked everywhere but it was close to public transport links to reach the sights. We had a wonderful stay and could not have asked for more. Would definitely stay again. Thanks Elaine.

Family trip from NY, scouting for universities for our daughter. Our other daughter studies at Uni of Edinburgh, and lives on Simpson Loan - so we knew location was very quiet, safe but walkable to the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh within minutes. The apartment was superb. Clean and well appointed. Comfortable beds. Everything we needed. Sharon was easy to deal with - flexible on arrival time to meet our changing travel needs. Can’t recommend this apartment enough. Wanted to come back for 2 nights in early July for our daughter’s graduation, but it’s a 3 night minimum :- (( Simply loved this place, staying at the hotel across the street won’t be the same!!! Thank you for the wonderful stay.

A perfect weekend stay with the dog! We loved the little touches, like the dog bowl. Location was amazing, flat was comfortable, warm, and clean. Can get slightly noisy on a Friday and Saturday afternoon as people stagger home from pubs on the main road but nothing major. Thanks :)

A perfect property in the quiet and peaceful area of Bruntsfield, a stones throw from everything you can need in terms of transport links, walks, shops and restaurants. We absolutely loved it and really appreciated all the little touches that make a property a home, such as fresh flowers, welcome biscuits and milk in the fridge. Thank you Di and Eddie.

Everything you need in kitchen to cook a meal. We took lap trays rather than try to use dining table, but wasn’t a problem. The bath is very deep so need to be careful getting in if mobility not great but once in the shower options are easy to use and give a great shower. Beds are very comfortable and with no light pollution it’s very dark so a good night sleep is gauranteed. Small table and chairs outside great for catching the sun in afternoon and protected from the wind.

This is let is worth a visit if you are a family or in a group. It's a peaceful location with off-road parking. We all had a room to ourselves and there are nice places to relax in the house. We were able to walk 5 minutes to the tram stop and be in Edinburgh centre in 20 minutes or so. You can make the best of Edinburgh when staying. Usman is very hospitable and will meet and show you round himself. He communicated well for us and was flexible with when we could check in. This proved very helpful on the day! I would recommend staying here, it's a nice place.

Responsive and friendly host. We slept comfortably and appreciated the flexibility with check in time traveling with small children.

We, a family of five, enjoyed wonderful four nights in the lovely House on the Hill which was exactly as described. A great plus was the tennis court, that was very well received by our children. Walking the dog was a great experience. We used the farm cottage to explore Scottish Borders, Northumberland and of course Edinburgh. We would certainly come back and highly recommend this lovely place!

The house was lovely and easily accommodated our family of six, including children and accessibility needs. Marie was very accommodating and had provided a well stocked kitchen and helpful guidance on using the features of the property.

Utterly brilliant stay. Its rare to have a peaceful location but really very close to both the great West End cafés, bars and shops, as well as the tram stop. Allan was a wonderful host, extremely helpful with regards to an early check in request combined with a very friendly tone for all communication. The house was perfect for the 2 of us, really comfortable, good sleep, tv for the short period we were there. We have already booked a return visit. You couldn't do much better in my opinion.

The cottage was exactly as described. The owners were very communicative and we had no issues during our stay at all. It is a great location, nice and quiet very close to Kielder Water and Forest Park.

Natasa and team were extremely accommodating and flexible when we needed to shift our stay around due to unforeseen circumstances. Great communication and follow up. Location was amazing, close to the castle and main streets to walk around.

Jane was a great host, the response time was amazing and she was very helpful. The spot of the home is unmatched being at the foot of Edinburgh castle and everything is within 20mins walking distance. Not a bad thing to be said, all in all a great place to experience the beautiful city of Edinburgh!!

Lovely wee flat and host was really kind. Lots of treats left for breakfast. And well stocked with toilet roll, hand soap, bits for dishwasher etc. Dog was very well catered for. Garden is lovely. Lovely area with plenty of stuff nearby to do. Parking on street was never a bother. Would happily return!

Wir hatten 5 tolle Tage. die Wohnung ist groß, cool eingerichtet, hat alles, was man braucht und liegt nahe bei den Meadows. Wir kommen gern wieder. Sehr zu empfehlen.

We have had a great city break at Caroline's place. It had everything we needed for a home from home stay, all within walking distance of the main attractions of Edinburgh. Would recommend to anyone wanting a homely stay in the city.
