We had an awesome adventure at Casa Roja, it was a beautiful house in an amazing location. We spotted monkeys from the living room most days, we were visited by the Macaws several times during our stay, and the tours of Corcovado & Canos were spectacular. Graciela and staff were extremely friendly, accommodating, and the prepared meals were delicious. It was obvious that our happiness and comfort was their priority. I would highly recommend Casa Roja for a Costa Rican retreat, just be prepared for the heat. Without a steady breeze or airflow via fans, the heat can be brutal for northerners like us.

We absolutely LOVED Casa Ola! It's an incredibly comfortable and very well designed home. One of our favorites we've ever stayed in. One of the reasons we chose Casa Ola was for the kitchen and it was great! It is spacious and well-appointed with everything you need to cook for yourself or a group. If you're cooking, make sure to take advantage of Emilio with his fruit and veg truck--excellent produce at reasonable prices! As mentioned in other reviews, the water is slightly rougher than up the playa toward the village but we had no issue swimming, boogie boarding and light surfing right outside the house. We did it several times a day, every day! We will definitely be back to Zancudo and 100% will stay at Casa Ola every time. Every space--from the outdoor patio to the upstairs sitting area to the screened in hammock area and the lovely covered gazebo to watch the sunsets--is magical. Susan was a perfect host, very responsive, accommodating and kind with a wealth of knowledge.

Paz is a special place and Roberto is a wonderful host. The floor to ceiling screens in the living room/dining room situate you right in the secondary forest. Heaven for nature loving bird nerds. If you’ve spent time on the Osa before, you know Howler monkeys wake you at 4:30am. We watched howler, spider, and squirrel monkeys from bed. The beach is a minute walk. A covered porch with hammocks and chairs to enjoy the beautiful Gulfo Dulce. And a small pool to cool off in (key) and watch Macaws, capuchin monkeys, hermit crabs & the waves. We bought groceries in Puerto Jimenez and cooked most of meals for the week. Kitchen has big fridge, sharp knives, and worked well for us. Marluna Lodge (5 min drive) for Taco Tuesday. Visited local surf breaks and surfed the right point break out front of Paz. Tide dependent. Roberto can help you figure it out. Roberto was very attentive, warm, and helpful. He’s created a beautiful space in a beautiful part of the world.

Die Unterkunft im Haus war genauso, wie im Portal abgebildet. Die Beschreibung der Anfahrt und der genauen Lage wurde uns rechtzeitig zugeschickt und war sehr genau. Um dahin zu gelangen benötigt man ein Auto, das wir über die Ostertage gemietet haben. Wir wurden herzlich begrüßt mit dem frischen Obst aus dem Garten. Das Haus selbst lässt keine Wünsche offen, es ist sehr schön, geräumig, gepflegt und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Der Garten dazu ergaben eine Oase der Ruhe. Schon beim Aufwachen konnte wir die bunte Vogelschar aus den Fenster beobachten und jede Mahlzeit draußen war ein Ereignis. Da kamen die kleinen Eidechsen vorbei, das Eichhörnchen unf die vielen Vögel flogen umher. Auch die Kaffeeplantage mit Bananenstauden, Ananaspflanzen, und anderen Bäumen, etc. faszinierte uns. Wir sind seit 2 1/2 Monaten mit Rucksack unterwegs und diese Unterkunft war ein Ort der Erholung! Danke, wir haben es sehr genossen.

La casa es muy linda, bien cuidada y todo está muy ordenado. Lea fue muy amable y me ayudó con todas mis preguntas. Éramos un grupo de 7 y la casa es demasiado cómoda y segura.

Une immersion totale dans la nature dans le confort souhaité. Ni trop, ni trop peu. Nous n'avons pas été embêtés par les insectes et il était rassurant que tous les lits soient munis de moustiquaires. Nos hôtes ont été accueillants tout en restant discrets. Le lieu est très calme et nous avons adoré pouvoir nous promener dans les sentiers privés où nous avons pu voir autant d'animaux que dans le parc sans devoir organiser une expédition compliquée. La plage est sécuritaire et authentique, il n'y avait aucun touristes mais de sympathiques familles locales profitant du paysage magnifique. La dernière journée nous avons vu un groupe de dauphins à quelques centaines de mètres de nous dans l'eau! Merci pour ce séjour merveilleux.

Easy check in Responsive and delightful host. Amazing location. Plenty of room for 6. Would have preferred there was AC in the bedrooms but that's just me. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you Diana!!

Excelente lugar muy cómodo seguro y con mucha privacidad ideal para descansar. Recomendadisimo a los que quieran visitar el cantón de Coto Brus.

Absolutely spectacular in every way! The suite was light and airy, incredible views, stunning architecture. Peaceful surroundings. Joe and Susannah are real gems and we truly loved getting to know them (and the dogs and cat). The food was exceptional. Lots to do in Drake Bay: we barely scratched the surface after being there for 4 nights. We would absolutely stay there again.

The location is great, few doors down to a supermarket and few restaurants. The property is beachfront and private. It’s more worth than what I paid for. Ana is a really nice person and eager to help. I’ll be back!

Esteban's place is perfect for me because I love living close to nature and his house is the last one at the end of the road surrounded by jungle. I love hearing and looking at all the wildlife. I love the walk to the beach down the jungle pathway. I like living in a place where there is no drinking and partying going on. if you want to be close to grocery stores and restaurants then this might not be the best place for you.

Outstanding stay in every possible way. Sue and Joe have created an oasis in the jungle. The lodging itself is beautiful and matched the photos but what sets Southern Drakes Lodge apart is the service. We are a family of 5 and never have we felt so taken care of in all our travels. From the moment we booked to when it was time to depart, Sue and Joe took care of every detail from taxis, laundry, tours (thank you Elsa!), amazing meals (Thai and Ellie prepared breakfast and dinner that were as beautiful as they were delicious). Five days was not enough but we all left with a sense of gratitude that we were able to experience the OSA peninsula and stay in such a special place with amazing hosts.

Christian and his wife provided a very comfortable and enjoyable experience during our stay with them in Drakes Bay. From the Boat pick up to the food and room accommodations, all were beyond our expectations. We would definitely stay at Cabina Yaseth again. Pura Vida!

One of the last remaining paradise like places.... it is really hard to leave this dream. Hour long hikes through the jungle, monkeys, arras, tapirs and the puma are close by. Long, beautiful beaches with no one but the sunset in sight. Complete darkness and milky-way over sparkling plankton Susan and Carlos welcomed me into their oasis with open arms and open hearts. They are hard working, loving people taking really huge care of their guests and staying with them was like coming home. Cuddled into the jungle mountain my bungalow was a place for rest and reset. I enjoyed the peace and quiet with no cars or motorbikes and just 5 minutes to the beach so much that i extended my stay from three days to two weeks. there is a restaurant conveniently placed at the bottom of the hill - enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast, lunch (get the boxed lunch for the beach) or dinner. A bar is also part of the families complex where at night you can enjoy a drink with some locals or the other guests.

Le déjeuner inclus étaient excellents. On m’a offert aussi le diner pour un petit supplément et bien fait d’accepter Yasdania est excellente cuisinière, j’ai mangé chaque soir comme un roi. Le couple qui tiens l’endroit était d’une grande gentillesse et venait discuter avec moi sans être trop inclusif. On m’a donné de bons conseils pour ce qu’il y a à voir dans les environs. On venait même me porter des fruits frais l’après midi.

At Andy’s place the adventure comes to you. People pay to be taken out into the jungle for tours to see wildlife that showed up in our yard with no effort. The road to matopalo is rough - can’t be passed without 4wd. I wish we’d had higher suspension in ours but we managed. Stop at the bakery and the BM supermarket in PJ for food and stock up. There is no reason to return to PJ during your stay at Andy’s if you have enough food/drinks. Bring coconut oil for your legs to prevent sand fleas (this applies to all Costa Rica) deet also works but natural is better. I would call the experience *top notch glamping* you’re really outdoors and one with nature the whole time. Unbelievable surroundings with a bed and pillows, hot running water and a working range. Perfect for my family who’s used to campervan camping. Backwash bay was perfect for swimming. Andy’s place was perfect for watching surfers, sunrises and sunsets. Keep an eye out for bioluminescence after sunset!! & THE SWING AH!

We had an excellent stay. The beds were very comfortable which has been not super common for us in CR. The wifi was great as my husband and I were both working. The host was very kind and welcoming. We were pleasantly surprised the bugs were minimal for being so open air. The birds were amazing. The lookout point is beautiful. They were kind and flexible about late checkout for us. The host even took time to take us to the waterfall and natural jacuzzi on the property. He taught us about all the different kinds of trees. Mary was great as well. We hope to make it back to stay here again!
