We had a relaxing couple of days at the Granary over new year and it had everything we needed. The place was spotless and well equipped as well as very cosy. The farm is on a quiet road but is a short drive or 20 minute walk into Sedgefield and is convenient for Durham as well. Loved meeting the Shetland pony and Rascal the cat too!

Absolutely beautiful area, very private with stunning views! Waking up to rabbits chasing each other just outside the window was lovely, let alone the friendly sheep or the birds that live there. Make sure to bring a torch as it gets very dark at night! Was thrown off by not having a tv but the log burner made up for it by creating such a comfortable and relaxed space. Left here with a very clear head and a very happy dog Massively recommend this place

Wonderful place, as Bev says - the place gives you a warm hug. Relaxing, quiet, and perfect rest for us and our anxious rescue dog! Lovely being near the river, lots of birds and wildlife nearby. Felt right at home and hope to return again soon!

Two families with dogs and children and the cottage was great! Plenty of space, big kitchen well stocked with equipment and we arrived to tea, milk and biscuits. Plenty of communication from the host and we made full use of the grounds and play room. Location was great, plenty of walks from the property and the local amenities had everything we needed. We stayed at the Granary for a weekend break visiting family in the area, we found it to be very clean, well equipped and was as described, both beds are enormous and comfortable, we all slept extremely well as it was extremely peaceful, It’s definitely a bit of a gem and we will definitely stay again.

Wonderful host and property. Children loved watching the sheep in the nearby fields, seeing the local horses and playing in the enclosed garden. Property was clean and homely. Had everything you need and more. Host provided lots of helpful information about the local area, and was responsive to any needs. Would highly recommend.

Ralph Lodge was everything we could have hoped for. Plenty of room for family staying over, and for meeting up with friends from the North East. It has a calm peaceful atmosphere with a lovely open outlook and easily accessible for a range of local facilities. It is very stylish, beautifully clean with an abundance of crockery And kitchen equipment so often skimped in rented properties. The beds were quality and comfortable and the single/double bunk beds a nice touch. Everyone was very impressed. Thank you Julie and David.

We all loved our stay at this lovely farm house over New Year. The house was spacious clean and well equipped for everything we needed. Elizabeth and Tom were very quick to respond to any questions we had prior to and during our stay. The outside area was just perfect and we would love to come back to enjoy the outdoor area more in the summer. Such a lovely house, perfect kitchen for hosting small groups and in a good location!

The cottage is very well appointed and we loved that there was a dog bed and dog toy as well as fresh eggs from the chickens on our arrival. It was great to be able to do a lovely walk from the cottage along the Deerness Valley railway path with our dog. We also enjoyed the 20 minute easy drive into Durham. Thank you Trevor and Lorraine for being so friendly and welcoming 😊

A lovely hidden gem in the beautiful countryside. We absolutely loved our two night stay with our beagle Wilson. The barn is stunning with everything you need. Lovely fresh linen, fluffy towels and robes for when you get out of the hot tub with stunning views which is amazing! An absolute bonus to be able to watch the sheep and lambs so close by! Kaye and Jonathan were friendly and really helpful. We feel totally relaxed and refreshed. Thank you for a lovely stay and I’m sure we will be booking again soon ☺️

The Cottage if really special and surprisingly spacious. It has everything you can need and is clean and tidy. The views are quite stunning and has great walks on the doorstep.

Myself, Ellen and Florence absolutely loved our stay.. wish it could have been longer! A beautiful cottage with everything you could need. The conservatory overlooking the river was the absolute highlight, alongside the ease of access to fishing the river. The perfect relaxing getaway - we’ll be back!

My Fiancé and I had a lovely stay at the The Loft. Firstly, John was a great Host. Before arrival, he sent instructions on how to locate the property, which even included pictures and was very helpful. He was also friendly and polite. The Loft itself was beautifully decorated and offered a relaxing space for us to enjoy our weekend. With modern features in the kitchen, a very comfortable bed and a refreshing walk-in shower, it was a delightful experience. We really appreciated the small details that made a huge difference, such as the luxurious bath towels, fresh milk in the fridge on arrival and the collection of brochures for ideas on 'things to do'. The Loft had everything we needed for our stay, and was great value for money. The location is perfect, offering a peaceful environment whilst also only short drive from the busy Durham City Centre. I'd highly recommend booking a trip to stay here! Thank you John.

Blue Heron Lodge was absolutely fantastic we did not want to leave. It is spotless and has everything you need for a perfect break. It is definitely a home from home. The hot tub and its amazing view being an added bonus after returning from our long walks with the pooch! Stuart and Debi are wonderful hosts and very responsive and friendly. Will definitely return
