Such a spectacular setting! Sitting on Joy and Ray's patio terrace is like having Yosemite valley all to yourself, an unbelievable treat. The cabin is lovely and the location is perfect. Joy and Ray are welcoming, relaxed hosts. The poet Mary Oliver famously asked, "what will you do with your one wild and precious life?" . Joy and Ray provide a pretty remarkable answer to that question, that is an inspirational model to the rest of us. Natural history and historical interpretation, science and education, photography and exhibit construction, music, rodeos...a rich tapestry they wove exactly how they wanted, with creativity and science and collaboration running through it all. We can't wait to return to the canyon views and the conversations on the patio terrace.

So happy to find this house! Located super close to town and so cozy! Very limited options actually in Willcox and this place is the best in town. Furniture was super clean and cozy, beds were also very comfy, she even has a spare folded up bed in the closet that was great for our 3 year old. Super large bathtub in the master. Wi-Fi didn't work while we were there and she was out of town but was still more than willing to troubleshoot with us. Love that it was on a large piece of land as it was so peaceful and great for the kids to run around.

Mary Katherine was super responsive and easy to work with. We had trouble the the digital lock, but she was able to get us a key immediately. No trouble after that. Conveniently located near the wine tasting rooms. Beautifully decorated with comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. If we're back in the area, we'd definitely stay there again!

We stayed for two months and have not a single negative comment! Our stay was beautiful, peaceful, full of walks, watching the birds, javelinas, and cows. The house was well stocked. Kellye and Dee (& staff!) were attentive, yet allowed us our solitude. It is remote, which is exactly what we wanted! But, the post office and restaurants in nearby Rodeo and Portal are super friendly and an easy drive; groceries in Douglas was a beautiful hour's drive away, and the sites of Cave Creek Canyon, Fort Bowie, Pancho Villa State Park and more were very enjoyable. Tucson airport provided us an airport to travel in and out of for work during our stay (about 2 hours away), and the extremely high speed internet kept us connected (when we could tear ourselves away from the beautiful porch, views, and solitude!) The Hacienda was the perfect place to call home for our first birding trip to Cave Creek Canyon. The space was clean, comfortable and cozy. We saw lots of birds and wildlife right on the property. And Bill is a knowledgeable and gracious host.

The cabin is peaceful and private and in a fantastic location if you want to hang out in and around Portal. As everyone says, the big porch with its expansive view of the mountain, and the many bird feeders which bring in a dozen or more species ( and javalinas!) and the dark skies are really special. The cabin itself is very clean and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals but the Portal Cafe is a fun place- next time we’ll bring fewer groceries! Steve was responsive when we texted with a minor question.

We stayed for 4 nights whilst exploring the Chiricahua National Monument. The cottage was very spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Having a full kitchen and a washer and dryer were convenient for us at the end of a hard day's hiking too. We would recommend this cottage to anyone staying in the Willcox area.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Birdsong! It was so comfortable. The home is well laid out, very clean, wonderful recommendations, 10 mins from town, and so quiet!

The hut was very well appointed inside and the views looking out the large sliding glass door were peaceful and serene. This was a great spot to come back to after touring several of the wineries and just relaxing with a bottle and some food. We look forward to our next visit out to the huts with our family.
