This area is very special, location between Monterey and Carmel. The Monterey Cypress forest is a treasure as are the beaches. The cottage was very nice, tucked into the property under trees with beautiful gardens. Private outside seating area. Good wall heater for space. Bed was comfy. Good to have table and chairs, regular seating chairs and a futon for relaxing. Functional, basic kitchen. Paper towels and basic dinner ware supplied. Wine opener and can opener supplied. Bring your own special kitchen ware as needed. We used the supplied great electric kettle and french press for coffee. Toaster, microwave and small refrigerator worked great. Great shower and water pressure. So good to have extra blanket and pillows! WiFi worked great. Thank you Luna and Philip!

Magical! That is the word that just kept coming up for us! What a lovely place! Chrissi and Stephen were just as sweet as the place! Great and easy location to get to all things Santa Cruz (of course the Redwoods too!). We just loved the cozy and unique vibe, the gardens, you just step into a little retreat as soon as you arrive. It had all we needed. Parking is street parking, which we had a slight concern with (I am an over packer!), but we were able to find a space right near out front every time (literally!). We will be back, I have no doubt!

First impression- WOW! House is very spacious and clean. Stocked with every need. The house was very quiet inside. Owner (Gabriel) was very helpful with local recommendations and accommodating a special request. Gabriel was very responsive and stayed in communication with me when I had any questions leading up to the time of our stay. He was also very kind and accommodating to our needs. I highly recommend staying here. It’s a great location near to stores, restaurants and downtown. Definitely somewhere we will be coming back to.

This place was exactly what we were looking for! It was very clean and had everything we needed. The check in and out was smooth and she was very quick to respond to us! The garden and room were super cute and well decorated. It was super cozy! It was my first time booking through Airbnb and I would definitely stay again! Thank you again for letting us stay!

This was perfect for us. Adorable apartment home with vintage charm. We had our own entrance and it felt private and protected. The house had all kinds noon extras like coffee, teas, and snacks as well as lots of games. It was close enough to walk to really good restaurants and all the fun but far enough away from the crowds, partiers, and noise of the boardwalk that we could rest peacefully. The whole house was clean, cozy, and comfortable. I would highly recommend.

We spent almost 3 weeks in this cozy and charming apartment. The location is perfect for experiencing all that Santa Cruz has to offer and we walked to the beach, wharf, and Boardwalk daily. Many coffee shops and restaurants are blocks away. Mike was extremely responsive and friendly, but not intrusive at all. We hope to stay here again.

We enjoyed our 2 nights at Tom’s cabin. All instructions were clear and everything listed were accurate. He was very friendly and available for questions too. We will stay there again when we go back to Carmel!

Anina is a great host! She is friendly, accommodating and helpful but also respectful of my privacy. The unit is lovely, bright with sunlight, private, in a great location. It is so nice to have a spacious room and kitchen area. The bathroom was clean and well equipped. This was my second month long stay at this location. I would not hesitate to come again. It is my go-to location in Santa Cruz.

The house is very cosy, welcoming, and clean. The host is very kind, and responsive. She responds to messages within minutes and is very flexible. We felt welcomed and supported. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped. I highly recommend this place for itself, and for the quality of communication with the host.

Josephine’s place was perfect for my stay! The place had everything I needed, from essentials to thoughtful extras that made my visit even more comfortable. It was spotless, well-organized, and had a welcoming atmosphere. Check-in was a breeze, and the clear instructions made everything super easy. This was such a great rental! Everything was perfect. Host VERY helpful and communicative. Beds were AMAZING! Linen was awesome. Everything was spotless. Quiet at night, even though the house is close to great food, ice cream and coffee. I would absolutely stay here again and I highly recommend this place. Perfect for 2 couples or 2 couples with a child or a family of four. One of the best places for it's size in the area. And one of the best hosts as well.

This place was so cute and perfect for our stay. It was clean and looked new and well maintained. Martha was accommodating to our needs and very responsive. We felt really at home and enjoyed our stay there. We would stay here again next time we are in the area.

We will be returning for sure. Kimberly and the space could not have been better for our needs. We've been touring colleges with our daughter and for our UCSC round we found the location to be utterly peaceful and quiet and exactly as described and clean as a whistle. It's one block from one of the prettiest beaches and has a ton of food/amenities located nearby. Kimberly was highly communicative and offered lots of useful suggestions both for restaurants and things to do while in the area. If our child ends up at UCSC we will be benefit from this space regularly. Thanks for the wonderful offering and help, Kimberly.

Great place to unwind and unplug. Would definitely recommend to anyone that needs to decompress. The cabin was halfway between Carmel and Big Sur so it’s perfect

Really enjoyed my stay here! The place was clean and comfortable, and the shower was especially nice after long days of hiking. It’s also in a super convenient location—perfect for exploring some of the best trails in Big Sur. A great home base for a hiking-focused trip. Would definitely recommend!

We had an amazing stay at Elia's property! All four of us were thoroughly pleased with the thoughtful amenities and included features—it truly felt like a home away from home. This was my first time staying in the Highlands and I could not have been happier with Jonathan’s guest house. It was a luxurious retreat high above the tree tops with incredible ocean and mountain views. I melted into the sectional couch and watched the sky show of hawks, jays and drifting clouds. Everything I needed was there, including a very comfortable bed and top notch cooking supplies. The house was clean and furnishings were thoughtfully arranged and beautiful, just enough to feel warm and inviting but not cluttered. The location was perfect and I looked forward to returning home from every excursion, just to sit on the deck and experience the peaceful surroundings. Thank you, Jonathan, for sharing your delightful guest house!

This guest house was absolutely incredible. The location cannot be beat. The amenities were awesome. The house was well stocked, we did not need anything. Our host was amazing, so kind, so responsive and very nice. We plan to come back next year for the Sea Otter Classic race and this will be the place we stay. Super clean, great location and the most awesome host.

What a gem of a place! We loved our time there as a family of four and the location was perfect. It is on a quiet street and close to the beach (short walk). There are many supplies, cooking equipment, games, etc. to keep the whole family occupied and at home! Winnie was so kind and a pleasure to communicate with. We’d love to come back!

This is such a gem! This little duplex was so cute and perfect for our stay in Santa Cruz. The pictures don’t do it justice! Kathleen was a fantastic host. She was great with communication and checked in with us throughout our stay. The location is unbeatable, 20 minute walk to the boardwalk, 10 minute walk to the beach and 1 minute walk to Verve coffee! I highly recommend Kathleen’s spot to anyone!

Awesome cottage; amazing vibe. We loved our stay, the only thing we didn’t like was that there was so much to do in the area that we didn’t spend as much time relaxing/enjoying the cottage as we wish we had. We didn’t need to reach out for anything, it really was like having a home away from home, but there is no doubt that if we had needed anything our hosts would have been responsive. It was truly a worry free stay.

Mary’s cottage was a peaceful and comfortable oasis for us in our travels. The cottage is modern and spotless, and the bed very comfortable. We really appreciated having a washer and dryer and the use of a full kitchen. The downtown area is only a few minutes away by car.
