Only 20 minutes north of Duluth, private views of Lake Superior. Can't beat it!

We had an amazing stay. The cabin was clean, cozy and beautiful beyond our expectations. Exquisite view of the lake, amazing stars, absolutely anything we could want in a north woods retreat. Will be back for sure!

My partner and I couldn’t have had a more positive stay at Phil’s cabin. It’s as described, sitting right on the edge of Lake Superior. We are cozy, nature-loving homebodies, so this was a stellar getaway. At the timing of this review, we stayed 3 nights in early off-season March 2025 (chilly, with heavy snowfall on our last day) which saw several weather changes that only enhanced the natural surrounding atmosphere. The cabin is close to Split Rock Lighthouse and 20 minutes to Two Harbors proper, with plenty to see and do. If not going out to the café, brewery, or state park, we were bundling and idling indoors quietly admiring a very clean, plentiful cabin with working amenities. Phil and Emily were transparent hosts in ensuring we were set up with a cozy, accomodating experience and (to go without saying) very respectful of our privacy. We arrived with a scenic, humble getaway in mind and they absolutely delivered. We hope we can visit again in the near future. Thank you so much!

This is just what we needed for a “home-base” while we went fishing up and down the North Shore rivers. Super convenient location in Two Harbors that’s close to everything in town. Amanda was very responsive if we ever had a question. Recommend.

Everything was great. Simple check-in and out. Location was great for my needs. All the amenities were laid out. I would definitely stay there again.

We loved the Corny Cottage! Erin accommodated us on short notice as we we needed to get out of our house while some work was being done on it. What a treat to find this terrific place! We loved all the art and character. It was warm and cozy with an amazing view. The kitchen was well stocked and there were games, puzzles, books and interesting object to examine to keep us entertained. They supply so many things to help make a cabin stay great, like cooler bags, hammocks, towels, etc. and they even stock the cabin with items for visiting dogs like water and food bowls, toys & waste bags, we were really impressed! The delivery service option of local farm products was a surprise and a real treat. Highly recommend the Corny Cottage!

Place was fantastic. We stayed 3 nights (March, 2025) with four young kids, two adults. Everything is very well communicated/clear (access, entry, garage, rules, etc) everything is known up front (kitchen items, fireplace, etc) Place is big and quiet too. Very clean, updated, cozy, and well lit (also with blackout curtains in all bedrooms) Kitchen is nice with everything you need to cook, including a grill (already had tea, keurig coffee and cups, oil, seasonings, including paper towels, zip locks, detergent, soap, etc) There is everything you need for the beach (chairs, toys, towels). Tons of games, puzzles, and books. But the best of all..... private beach, sauna, tons of firewood, garage, AND a washer/dryer. Fantastic North Shore Location (near Split Rock Lighthouse, Gooseberry Falls, Two Harbors, Tettegouche, etc). It's quiet, it's big, it's got everything you need, it's a great set up and we would proudly recommend this place to any of our family and friends!

We had the most amazing stay at Herbster, and it was the perfect getaway to celebrate my wife’s birthday! I surprised her with the location, and she was absolutely stunned. Nestled on a sandstone cliff with incredible views of Lake Superior, the sunsets from the bench on the point were nothing short of breathtaking. When we walked in, Ann had NPR playing a beautiful mix of ensembles, and it instantly set the tone for a relaxing weekend. We loved it so much, we kept the radio on the entire time! The house is beautifully designed and incredibly welcoming. My wife was blown away by all the thoughtful details, especially the local art and books throughout the home. It’s clear that Ann puts a lot of care into Herbster and into making guests feel at home. This was truly a special place to relax, unwind, and connect. Ann, thank you for helping us create such a memorable experience. We can’t wait to return!
