Treehouses at Candlelight Forest/Le Petit Chateau

Le Petit Chateau is one of two treehouses for rent in Candlelight Forest, a Simpler Times resort 18 minutes from downtown Chattanooga. Le Petit Chateau sleeps 6 and has a deck featuring our signature Canopy Kitchette for a unique outdoor grilling experience. The treehouse is beautifully decorated in the french farmhouse style. The Candlelight Forest is central to all the famous Chattanooga attractions, in addition to offering fishing and canoeing on our own Lake Angela. Perched in a beautiful tree canopy, Le Petit Chateau is built upon a sloping ridge which provides for very safe and easy access, as the entrance is at ground level. Its charming decor is inspired by old farmhouses of the French countryside. Upon arrival, a short stroll through the woods (and after dark, under near-magical hanging moon lights) brings you to the front door of your home away from home. A queen bed nook with privacy curtain, an open living area, a full bath, a back porch, and many thoughtful nooks and crannies adorned with decorator surprises provide the downstairs living experience. Up a two-tiered loft ladder, 4 twin beds and a cute half bath await the more adventurous up above. Our own signature Canopy Kitchenette (TM) rounds out the experience. The back porch has a very simple kitchen that includes a stainless wash sink, concrete countertop, toaster, and a gas grill with side burner, all elegantly covered in the shade of an oversized umbrella. Dine upon the custom built-in fold-down table and antique wooden chairs. Le Petit Chateau combines the greatest of all vacation experiences - cooking outdoors with shelter to boot, cozy spaces for family fun and romance, and a home base for all the excitement that awaits in this enchanting mountain and valley world only minutes from vibrant Chattanooga. The Candlelight Forest Resort, of which the treehouse is part, is comprised of 200 acres of preserve that includes two small mountain lakes for catch and release fishing, hiking trails, and a park with badminton, corn hole, a fire pit, and a historic marquee tent with family games. The Plucky Peacock is our farmstand and country store which serves as your welcome center. Television celebrity host Pete Nelson of Treehouse Masters also built a lovely recreational treehouse inside Candlelight Forest for you to enjoy. Guests have full access to their private Treehouse and all of Candlelight Forest, close to 200 acres of preserve including two small mountain lakes, a creek and many trails and amenities. We believe we have carved out a unique niche in the getaway/resort venue industry. We have a devoted team that wants to ensure you have an amazing time at Candlelight Forest, recreating and relaxing yourselves in a world that hearkens back to a simpler time. Our amenities are designed to bring families and loved ones into the great outdoors and closer to each other for the very best of memories. It has been awarded the #1 outdoor city in the US and has a large Farm-to-Table focus throughout its many fabulous restaurants. We have a great backdoor into downtown, with no traffic, through our quiet Chattanooga Valley. These accommodations are perfectly located to take in Chattanooga and the many surrounding attractions that abound nearby, including Cloudland Canyon State Park, Rock City, Ruby Falls, and The Chickamauga National Battlefield Park, all about 20 minutes away. Our staff is very eager to help you with ideas outside the gate including great eateries in Chattanooga as well as in the Valley and along Lookout Mountain. We have three other accommodations in the event you want to plan a getaway with friends or a family reunion. We welcome both!

The Sassafras Treehouse

The Sassafras Treehouse on Lookout Mountain is a brand new luxury treehouse with panoramic views and a spectacular sunrise. The treehouse features an a fully functional kitchen, (mini fridge, induction cooktop, and convection microwave) a traditional queen bed, a full bathroom, oversized soaking bathtub, outdoor shower, hot tub, firepit, bed swing, and several additional amenities listed below. This home is suited for 2 guests. This is a place to relax, unwind and unplug, therefore there is no television at this location. The Sassafras Treehouse is situated on 18 acres with many natural elements such as boulders, some of which were used in the construction and pathways of the treehouse, mountain laurel and sassafras on the grounds. Occasionally you may even spot deer. There are yurts nearby, not managed by us but we are happy to give you the info if you have additional people you are traveling with who want to stay nearby. The treehouse is constructed of many repurposed materials. The heart pine floors, lathing strips for ceiling construction, and reclaimed lumber used for ladder to the loft bedroom and chevron barn door was all from a furniture store that was over 100 years old. The beautiful dutch door was taken from an estate in Asheville, North Carolina. As you can see, a lot of love went into this one of a kind treehouse and we hope it brings our guests joy and peacefulness. Just like any other treehouse, this treehouse can slightly sway in high winds. This treehouse was built from a treehouse plan and has additional bracing. This rental is not suitable for pets or children under the age of 12. Minimum age to check-in is 21. The Sassafras Treehouse does not permit indoor smoking, parties, or events. 2 vehicles are permitted on the property and all guests staying overnight must be listed when booking. The treehouse is located 20 miles from downtown Chattanooga, 16 miles to Rock City, 3 miles to Cloudland Canyon, and is central to many other attractions. I am available by message and also live in the area if assistance is needed. **The outdoor shower will be winterized if temperatures drop below freezing.

Fannie's Place

This tiny home is on the historic home site of Fannie Mennen and the Plum Nelly Clothesline Art Show. She even named the road. The home is brand new, artfully decorated and has 1 double bed, 1 bath, a sleeping loft with 2 twin beds, and a queen sleeper sofa. The view is from 2000 ft elevation and looks into the valley and across to the mountain again. There is civil war history on the property. There is a 100 ft drop so guests are asked to not stay here with young children.

Redbud Tiny Home with a Hot Tub and Mountain Views

This adorable tiny home is nestled at the base of Lookout Mountain with beautiful panoramic views and a hot tub. Tucked between beautiful, green pastures with goats and chickens browsing close by. Look up and you will see the hang gliding launch and the air dotted with hang gliders and paragliders soaring up to the clouds. The spacious deck affords great views of the mountain and the nearby fire pit the perfect place to relax under the stars.
