We stayed for a long weekend for a girls weekend and to do a long day walk on a Saturday. Beautiful spot to relax for a weekend or if you’re planning a hike around the area. The cottage had everything we needed and more and we definitely left feeling like we had a mini vacation! Richard was great at communicating and making sure our time spent at the cottage was wonderful. The pool was an absolute treat after our hike and the spa also to stargaze. Thank you!

Came for our honeymoon for a simple getaway and this was perfect! Amazing views, not far from pubs/towns and was overall just peacefully perfect. Would definitely book to stay again!!

It was our second stay at the cottage and we will be back again. Wonderful, quiet spot surrounded by beautiful gardens and views of the hills around Waipawa. Johanna and Andrew are the perfect hosts. It was a great stay.

True Luxury within a Boutique yet homely setting here at The Gatehouse. It was evident that this was going to become my best AirBNB experience from the moment Philip made contact. The entire process was swift and smooth with no delay in communication. The house itself is remarkable, with high end sound equipment, luxury bathroom toiletries and rich flora at your doorstep, just to name a few. The location itself is a simple 20 minute drive from the CBD or a short ferry trip if you prefer. Its peaceful surroundings and friendly locals help aid this in being the best Airbnb you can find, not only in Wellington but perhaps the entirety of the Southern Hemisphere. Look no further if you want to set the bar so high as to make a 5 star hotel feel like a hostel…

Beautiful place, this is a perfect getaway. Johnny’s place is beautiful, peaceful and very well kept. Kids enjoyed the horses around and enjoyed the greenery and free area to run around. We brought their little bikes with us and they loved biking on the grass. Johnny was super responsive and helpful.

First word that comes to mind is WOW! From the moment we arrived we were met with a warm welcome from the hosts and very friendly doggie. Secluded & private. Stylish, cosy, and very well styled cottage. We enjoyed the outdoor spa under a full moon and stars. We enjoyed the views, sounds of the native birds and nearby roaring stags. Hosts provided wine, cheese and crackers, jams and coffee and breakfast. Everything you could want for a romantic getaway. 5⭐️

Beautiful place to stay and worth the drive for the peace and quiet. Our kids loved their big spacious comfy beds and so did we. It has everything you need for a quiet getaway. Hosts are super friendly and so are their fur babies. The little touches go a long way, plenty of towels and linen, some fresh eggs, nespresso coffee and some beautifully fresh baked sour dough bread Really felt spoilt and well looked after. Would recommend to everyone!

We had a delightful stay at Lucinda’s lovely cottage. Greeted on arrival and drove straight into what felt like a very private space all of our own - yet with walking tracks or the option of the road connecting us up with the animals, pond and gardens. Outdoor bath under the autumnal leaves was a highlight for me and my daughter fell in love with Nutz the cat and Sheldon the pig. We enjoyed feeding him our breakfast scraps. And so cosy with the fire to keep us warm. We’ll be back!

Perfect little 1bedroom, very spacious with two decks for entertainment, lots of lawn space for kids to run around, beach views are amazing from the front patio. Sunsets were absolutely beautiful. And the kaimoana never disappoints here in Tora 😊 🎣 🦞 Wish we had booked for longer, next time 👍

We had a lovely stay! We arrived in the dark and waking up to that view was something else! Such a special spot to take little ones, being able to come back and forth from the beach as we pleased was fantastic! Also loved the family feel of the Bach - you could tell there were many happy memories had there over the generations! Very accomodating hosts with great communication. We would love to visit again. Highly recommend

We were very grateful to be able to share a long weekend with the dogs at this traditional family-focussed Kapiti Coast bach. Very short walk to the beach, a walk or minutes drive to the fabulous Bus Stop Cafe, and close enough to provisions, cafes etc at neighboring beaches. Well set up, comfortable, clean and easy comms. I really loved my stay. I just wanted a place to rest and write in beautiful surroundings and that is exactly what I got. Because the unit is situated in this lovely big garden, set way back off the street, yet within easy walking and driving distance from shops, it suited my purposes perfectly. Russell and Louise were very welcoming when I arrived and made me feel right at home. I would happily stay there again.

Especially loved the position of this modern hygge inspired cottage amongst the fruit trees and micro-vineyard on the host’s property. It was so peaceful sitting on the verandah in the late afternoon listing to the birds and looking out at the garden. It is also perfectly situated within a short drive to experience the sites and activities of Napier/Hastings/Te Mata/cape Kidnappers. Wish I could have stayed longer and would definitely stay again.

We adored our stay! The cottage was pristine. The location is great. It is right across a quiet stretch of beach and walking distance from a great playground. It is very close to the airport but recent upgrades meant we couldn't hear the planes from inside the house. Our little one was obsessed with watching the planes take off. What really set this place apart was how thoughtful and kind the hosts were. We have a baby and toddler and the hosts brought toys for the kids to play with. The kids had the best time!

Awesome location to reach the ballon festival and ballon ascending at Greytown. Great stay.

Booked for a family member who was blown away with how amazing it was. Absolutely stunning, peaceful and beautiful a true slice of paradise. Close enough to town if needed to pop out and get anything , but further enough away to feel fully surrounded by nature.

Lucy’s place was absolutely wonderful. A great space to meet up with my friend when I was in town for a conference. Really looked forward to coming at the end of the day. A very peaceful place with fruit trees everywhere. Would 100% book again.

Stayed here for a friends wedding at St George’s restaurant and it was the perfect location 😊 beautiful surroundings and super clean and well set up inside.
