Had a lovely stay at Kim’s cabin. Enjoyed the garden, the bath, the random books selection as well. Everything was clean and very cute. Love the small attentions too. Waked to the recommended cafe which was really nice. The Otaki Beach market was nice for a stroll on Sunday morning. Lots of places to see in the area! Thank you Kim!

We had a wonderful stay here. Our kids were really entertained by the creek to play in, wildlife to watch, hot tub and glowworms. It was cosy and quaint. The space is beautifully basic, has everything you need and is comfortable. The bathroom is a little bit of a schlep up the hill but that was fine for us. We really loved our time here and are already planning a return trip. Would definitely recommend a stay in this lovely spot

This little gem is just wonderful - glamping at its best. Beautifully furnished with everything you need and all the lovely treats for breakfast and snacks made our stay relaxing and care free. Great bonus of being dog-friendly so our wee old girl just loved it too! Thank you Natalia, we’ll definitely be back.

This really is a unique retreat! It was an amazing short getaway where we were able to relax in a truly beautiful place. I loved how cosy the cottage was and stepping outside in the evening under a moonlight sky and solar lights was truly magical! So pleased we booked this place!

Comfortable and cosy. Lovely spa pool and fire with firewood and kindling ready to go. Only complaint was the dim lighting in the living area which made reading and board games hard to see. Other than that, we loved it and would recommend to others.

A lovely private cabin amongst the trees with the sound of the river and cicadas. The bed and chairs were extremely comfortable and the cabin was very clean. Gail also was able to provide access to indoor bathroom/shower and some kitchen facilities as there were no other guests staying at this time. Gail was very friendly and helpful and a lovely host.

We had the best stay. A lovely and sparkling clean little house with the most beautiful view. Had everything we needed for our stay. Loved sitting on the deck in the evening and enjoyed the water colours and sketchpads. We are thankful for places that allow us to bring our loved dog and take trips with the whole family. Definitely recommend.

Georgia's place was an amazing find. Exactly as advertised. A little oasis and such a lovely space and setting. An incredibly comfortable bed too! I will be back!

If you’re looking for a peaceful place with no restrictions, this is it! Do whatever you want—no rules, no stress. It’s nothing flashy, but if you just want a no-man’s-land kind of spot, it’s perfect. Great for families, especially if you’ve got a spoiled kid who needs space to run wild!

Mark was responsive and made the check in easy. Awesome set up with the outdoor fire and badminton course. Very close to the beach too.

We had a delightful stay here. It was cute and quirky and had everything we needed, including our own entrance with a horseshoe gate! We enjoyed the breakfast provided and discovering Paekakariki. Thank you

Paula was incredibly responsive and accommodating during our stay. The cabin exceeded our expectations, looking even better than the photos. Hearing the story of how they built it themselves added a special touch. It’s an ideal spot to unwind and recharge. Just a heads up, a SUV or Ute is recommended for the rocky track leading to the cabin. Overall, it’s a fantastic place! Thank you for hosting us!

This tiny hut is one of the best places I've ever stayed. Perched high up on the edge of the Tararua ranges, the views are stunning and it's perfect for a "get away from it all" getaway. I had my e-MTB with me, so it was super easy to get up and down the 2km track between the parking area and the hut (but it's probably too steep for a regular MTB unless you're super fit). I'll definitely be back :)

Excellent accomodation and host. Everything was clean, with little extras like a selection of spreads for breakfast and milk appreciated.

We had an amazing time at Delly’s place! The cabin was beautiful and extremely clean with a great view of the countryside. Delly herself was a wonderful host and it was lovely meeting her daughter and their little goat! We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Kirsty’s place was exactly what we needed for our trip away. Kirsty was lovely and was so helpful and presented Rakau’s Rest very well. We enjoyed chatting with her and she made us so welcome. Highly recommended if you need somewhere to stay and relax for a few days away from it all.

Coming from Vanuatu, I was worried about being cold, but I couldn't have been warmer. The hut was cozy, but there were also blankets so we could sit outside and watch the sky. The toilet was the best outdoor loo I've ever visited! The library was a lovely place to hang out too. There were delicious cupcakes to top it off! A great place to stay.
