Absolutely beautiful place with a gorgeous view of the river. The house is one of those places that makes you feel instantly at home. Sally is an epic host, super responsive and kind.

Breathtaking views when you arrive. Location is so peaceful. We had an amazing stay and holiday here. Yhe owner, Nick, was super responsive. The spa and the firepit made the stargazing nights delightful.

Was the perfect location for us to explore the area, including the forgotten highway. We were impressed how good the heating options were, x2 efficient heat pumps and great log burner, with heat transfer into the bedrooms, plenty of wood available. It was easy to feel at home as lots of personal touches throughout. We were a multi-generational family of 6 but could imagine x2 families would work well with the space. We self catered and kitchen was well set up to do this.

Nicola went above and beyond for me and my friends for my 40th birthday. The house has so much character and so much to do. The tennis court and swimming pool were an added bonus on top of everything else. The house had everything we needed. Great place for everyone to enjoy.

We had a great few days at John’s place in Taupō! The large space and number of bedrooms worked well for our group of 11 and the gardens, trampoline and spa were well used! Really quiet area yet close to everything we wanted to do. John was very communicative and responsive.

Jo was an amazing host, easy to message if need be and made us feel welcome. will be booking again next time i am in auckland. depending on where you do wanna go. $20 uber to the CBD or ponsonby and was a large space for a weekend getaway

Our big family had a great stay at Nathan’s place over the Easter weekend. There was lots to do including a hot tub, pool, dartboard, tennis court and games. Best yet, it is also home to lots of sheep and some chickens! During our stay we were able to enter the chicken coop and pick fresh eggs in the morning! Very lovely home and 100% would go back again.

This is an awesome home. Well furnished and the kitchen has every item you need to cook up a feast. Very spacious and the swim in the river was great. We will be back one day.

The perfect base for a few days exploring the Āwhitu Penninsula. Spotlessly clean and great communication. The view is spectacular- next time I want to try the spa!

Garys place is in a beautiful location and has wonderful views of the lake, the jetty and lake access was a real bonus. The bedroom and bathrooms set up were perfect and decorated really nicely, good wifi if you want it too and walkable to the main jetty area and town. thank you also for allowing us to bring our little dogs, it made for a wonderful holiday.

We absolutely loved staying at Vanessa’s place. We spent the last nights of our NZ trip there and were able to host my family for dinner. This is such a beautiful space and would definitely stay again next time we are in Auckland.

Thank you for great stay! Ali's place is cozy and peaceful, and there is much more to it than what is listed on AirBnB. Ali is a friendly and responsive host, and was very helpful in providing recommendations for local coffee shops and cafes when I asked about it. Furthermore, Ali was very generous in allowing early check-in and late check-out based on what I needed. There are beautiful beaches nearby to visit, with some cafes and restaurants overlooking the ocean. Definitely consider booking Ali's place when you are looking for peaceful stay in East Auckland.

We had a wonderful stay at Andrew and Jane’s place! The house is lovely, with a beautiful green setting and a fantastic garden where we enjoyed relaxing. The bed and couch were both large and very comfortable, making our stay extra enjoyable. Andrew and Jane were friendly and communicative hosts. The location was peaceful, and we loved listening to the birds in the garden. Overall, a great place to stay!

Great place to stay! Great area to explore and very nice to have a spacious place to come back to. Plenty of good amenities like laundry and espresso machine (2 most important things for us!). Very walkable to beach, local restaurants, hikes, other touristy stuff. Highly recommend!

We absolutely loved staying at Wayne and Jihee's place! The 30-minute drive from the city was a breeze, and the serene surroundings were the perfect retreat. Wayne went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, from meeting us in person to keeping in touch via text to ensure everything was smooth sailing. His responsiveness was impressive! He even accommodated our dietary preferences for breakfast, whipping up something light and delicious just for us. The bed was ridiculously comfy, and the cleanliness of the house was top-notch. We'd highly recommend staying here – thanks, Wayne and Jihee, for making our stay so special! 🙂🙂🙂🙂

Mathew's place is truly special — from the fun 4x4 ride through a deer park to the cabin, to the stunning views, total privacy and the covered barbecue area. Just know that it’s quite off the grid, which adds to the charm but also means it’s a bit rustic — the space wasn’t spotless (some dead insects in the outdoor shower, beddings didn’t feel fresh), but it felt understandable given the remote location. The ride with Mathew was super fun (we stood on the back and held the rails!) but it was raining, so we arrived completely wet — not a problem as we had jackets but might not suit everyone. When we arrived it was foggy, so we didn’t see the view until the second evening — but when it cleared, it was absolutely worth it. We recommend coming once and staying put — we walked 45 minutes back to our car as we had some program in between, but it's a nice walk. All in all, we loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for something different who doesn't mind a bit of adventure.

Enjoyed a night away with my wife in this awesome cabin . Clean and tidy . Outdoor bath was perfect . Private space with lots of little add ons like muesli for breakfast , brownie and even bath salts . Corrie was helpful and responsive. Would 100% recommend choosing this spot for a getaway from all the hustle and bustle !

Everything was perfect we loved our stay

Corrine was an amazing hosts, gave us privacy whilst making sure we had fun at the cabin! We got to feed the cows which was so fun! The beds were very comfortable and warm. Overall 10 out of 10 experience!

Absolutely breathtaking views sound this gorgeous cabin! It was cozy & comfortable. A highlight was taking the free kayaks for a paddle for more beautiful scenery on the water. Plus a bonus to be greeted by friendly goats on our way through the paddock down to the river. We found the shower tricky to maintain at a comfortable temperature, but that’s not uncommon when living off the grid. We’d absolutely recommend for a special experience!

The most peaceful beautiful stay for our anniversary. What made it even special was it being dog friendly!! Our pup just LOVED swimming in the creek and hiking to the waterfall (swimming there too haha). We all had the best time and are already planning our return. I had a very good stay at Mandy& Benjamin's. The cabin was beautiful, very clean, and quiet. I didn't try the outdoor bathtub and shower because of the bad weather, but otherwise, everything was perfect. I recommend it.

looking for peace & to switch off from the pressures of city life for a night or two then this is the place for you, Fantastic scenery, private & the option of 3 different rooms. you can hire all 3 and it would be an awesome get away for family or a group of friends. One of the rooms has its own bathroom and the other two shared facilities which were only a couple of meters away in the stockyard shed.All clean safe and great hot shower too! We had the best sleep ever! It is off the grid but the solar power was more than enough for basic power, lighting,charging devices etc.Cell phone reception is patchy but a few steps up to the barn and you well connected to the world again. (also being semi disconnected added to the charm of the place.) Bring all your own food & drinks + maybe a board game or 2 and really just enjoy the awesome spot without having to venture into town &relax. bonus is the use of a private boat ramp, we had our 2 jetskis and had an amazing time exporting the lake
