you can get lost in this massive mountain range. you'll likely have a chance to see coyotes, rattlesnakes, hawks, and other animals. the trail is highly trafficked and well marked so if you stick to main trails you won't get lost. parking is very limited at this trailhead.

for hiking, south mountain has many trails, please be sure to be safe, many people die from hikes in AZ if you don't plan properly, Camelback is a more challenging hike, try A mountain or hole in the rock for beginner hikes
