If you go driving on County Road 250 towards Purgatory, you might see some elks and other wildlife, because they like to hang out by the Animas River and you can also stop by Bakers Bridge.

The spot where Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid famously jumped into the river to escape capture was filmed here. The drive to the bridge is charming, and the river is breathtaking at this spot, particularly in the summer.
