Fun and interesting loops around the perimeter of the little island and/or the big island of Balboa.
Great area to go for a stroll and browse the shops/cafes. You can walk along the harbor and check out the boats and take the ferry over to the Peninsula where there is a Fun Zone, more restaurants, shops and the famous Wedge surf spot.
Great place to explore shops and restaurants. Put your comfy shoes on and do a lap around the island for exercise with a view. Take the ferry from the peninsula for extra fun.
Balboa Island is surrounded by a paved concrete boardwalk open to pedestrian traffic, designated as a public walking trail by the city. Balboa Island's Marine Avenue is home to local small businesses including restaurants, bakeries and local crafts.
Beautiful island with Custumer houses, boutiques, restaurants .... don’t mise frozen banana, must try!

Theme Park
“Great place for an afternoon of fun! Balboa Fun Zone has gift shops, little restaurants, penny arcades, a ferris wheel and a couple of other large rides, plus other attractions (street artist who draws portraits of you for a fee; boat rides, etc.). Beautiful Pacific Ocean and a clean beach to the west, swarms of happy people, some of them experiencing for the very first time the many delights of a tacky, low-tech amusement park with a penny arcade and an excellent place for "street photography" because of opportunities to take photos of the colorful ferris wheel, of tourists sporting colorful tattoos, of kids clutching melting ice cream cones, and so on.”
