The Grand Union Canal runs for 147 miles from Paddington into the heart of Birmingham. As it links the two biggest cities in Britain it was a major transport link before the coming of the railways

A nice one to go for a walk from Uxbridge town. It links to Denham country park and also there is a nice pub near the start of the canal

The Grand Union Canal runs between Birmingham and London and offers some fantastic spots to get on the water. If you bring your own kayak or paddleboard we would suggest driving out to Elkington, (15 minutes) and launching from the side of the canal. It is a peaceful and quiet part of the waterway, also great for dog walking and nature spotting.

Lovely walk towards the centre of town, or other way you can join the waters of leith and head into town that way
