This magical little town just outside the city offers a great walk uphill to its Pyramid, stunning views and a joyfull experience in its market, temazcales and healers environment. You can have a great meal at el Ciruelo (more upscale) or go for the market to enjoy local delicacies.
Tepoztlán is a Mexican town south of Mexico City. It is known for being the birthplace of Quetzalcoatl, the Aztec god depicted as a feathered serpent, and for its weekly craft market. A steep path leads to the Aztec pyramid of Tepozteco, on top of a hill above the city. The Ex-convent of Tepoztlán is a former Dominican monastery from the 16th century and has a local history museum. The adjacent Carlos Pellicer Museum exhibits pre-Hispanic art. The food is excellent.
