Great hiking spot. 3.5 miles each direction, but no need to go all the way up. If you do make it to the top, check out a city-wide view from the old NIKE missile silo. Beware of snakes.

Walk to the top of Escalon, then turn right on Encino Hills and you'll see a dirt road veer to the right. This is the start of the hiking trail. You can either hike toward the right to the Nike Missile Tower, or to the left...both roads offer stunning views of the Santa Monica Mountains.

Access this wonderful 5-mile trail at 13136 Garden Land Rd Los Angeles, CA 90049 Terrific views of the Valley & LA. Moderately strenuous with some steep grades. Mainly out in the open.
