Bronte sometimes flies under the radar thanks to Bondi, its famous neighbour, but it’s one of my favourite beaches. It’s not as busy as others in Sydney, and it has the excellent Bronte Baths rock pool at its southern end. For a great view, and great photos, walk along Calga Place, the street behind the baths, and scramble onto the rocks overlooking the beach. I love going to Bronte on a balmy evening in summer. You’ll get the best light around sunset, and there will still be people in the ocean and on the sand. There’s also a nice atmosphere early in the morning, with of people swimming and running—great for action shots.

This ones a favourite! Bronte Beach, sandwiched between the bigger Bondi and Coogee beaches, is a cozier stretch of sand and surf perfect for families. Two things make it really special - the beautiful Bronte Baths (my absolute favourite!), a tidal ocean pool on the southern side of the beach. And a naturally formed rock pool where the water is shallow and pond-like with occasional gentle waves or a small swell. Small children can paddle here in ocean water but without the waves, rips or currents. There are a number of cafes across the road, a kiosk at the SLS club, change rooms, showers and toilets and a large park with BBQs and playground next to the beach. Don’t leave without walking up the path past the Baths to the end of the headland. It is absolutely beautiful views and striking sandstone formations.

Great beach. Has an ocean pool, rock pool and surf. There's lifeguards on duty. Watch out for the rip.

Another beautiful beach but it is often closed due to rough surf conditions. You can do the Bondi to Coogee walk that will pass through all of the beaches along this coastal line and stop in and swim along the way. Pack some snorkels.
