The Edelman Park is another park located to the north on Topanga Canyon Blvd. It is smaller than Topanga State Park but has many beautiful views as well. There are caves to explore and even a picnic table placed in a beautiful spot. Enter off of Santa Maria Rd. which is appr. 1 mile north of Fontaine Rd. There are limited places to park, but as long as your car is off the road and others can pass, you should be all right. Look for dirt pull-outs on Santa Maria to park. There are signs located at 3 spots on the road indicating the park entrance. If you continue all the way to the end of Santa Maria Rd. you will find yourself up on dirt Mulholland Rd. with incredible views of the San Fernando Valley. Be sure to park on the side of Mulholland Rd. as this is a working, residential street. Our favorite Edelman path takes you to the picnic table near the caves. To find this trail, follow these instructions. When you initially turn onto Santa Maria rd. the road goes uphill very steeply. As you reach the summit, look for a pull-out to park just ahead as you go downhill. You'll see a path to enter the trail. Ahead 200 yards on the trail, you will see rocks below with picnic bench.

Edelman Park is the closest hike to the AirBnB. Make a right on Cañon at the bottom of Callado, then a left on Koontz. Follow Koontz to the end as it curves left, and you’ll be able to enter Edelman Park on your right It offers some 650 preserved acres to explore. While not as well known as the other Topanga walking and hiking areas, there are certainly beautiful views and bountiful wildflowers when in season.
