The 3.1 independence movement was held to prorest to the japanese Empire that governed Korea. In the middle of the movement, there was a girl named U-Gwan Soon. She was arrested for the reasons of handing out Korean flags to public. Even she got harsh consultants from Japan, she hold her ground till she passed out. She is revered as a national partiot. Her body was missing during Japanese colonial period but soil of her home was buried here to lay her soul.
