The Forrest Caves are a must see if you like nature. They are located just after The Cape Kitchen on the left off the main Phillip Island Rd. Walk up the steps from the car park, on to the beach, then turn left. The caves are only accessible at low tide. It’s approx a 20 min walk along the beach.
Short bike ride from Bayview Retreat. Go at low tide. Walk all the way down towards the big rock at the left end of the beach to see the "cave". Great rock pools too.
Destination for scenic coastal views & erosion-produced sea caves accessible at low tide. Rock pools, giant beech, caves! head to Cowes and look for the sign about 1 k past the helicopter port.
A stunning natural formation created by the power of the waves, best viewed at low tide so make sure you search up high and low tide times for the day you plan on visiting. You can go there at any time, but you can only see the cave fully when the tide is lowest. You can climb on top of the rock formation and this makes for stunning photographs. Once you park at the base of the sand dunes there is a short 100 metre walk up and down stairs onto the beach (there is no accessibility for wheelchairs). Once on the beach turn left and walk 300 metres to the caves. There are plenty of rock pools for the kids and plenty of rock hopping for the older kids (dads). The beach is not patrolled and extremely rough. There are areas that you can get your feet wet but it is not a swimming beach.
