Malamocco is a charming little village that used to be the capital of the Venice Republic.

Malamocco is a very anciant settlement, one of the most ancient of the lagoon. Very small but beautiful, it can be seen in less than 1 hour, but it's worth the visit, especially if you go there to eat some fish or seafood in local restaurant (there are two and both very good and a bit cheaper than the ones located in the center). Out of the crowd of the "mainstream" tourism, from Malamocco you can also enjoy the view on the lagoon side and reach the beach called Murazzi, on the "back" of the town.
