As an addition of fun things to do in NYC, why not take a FREE ferry ride and see the skyscrapers from an ever-widening distance. Perfect for warm sunny days. Catch glimpses of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. If you wish to walk around, there is a museum on Staten Island OR you can simply take a return ferry. If it's summer, then there are the beaches (like Coney Island - with the amusement park as well), all only a train-ride away!

The Staten Island Ferry is FREE. It also has an amazing view of Battery Park City, New Jersey and the Statue of Liberty. Best time of day is to try and get the ferry right before Sunset but you can't go wrong.

The Staten Island Ferry is a FREE boat ride. takes about 26 minutes in each direction and you get to see the Statue of Liberty! When boarding the ferry on the way TO Staten Island make sure you go outside on the RIGHT side of the boat, here you will be able to see the Statue of Liberty. when you reach staten Island they make EVERYONE EXIT THE BOAT to then reboard. You can follow the crowds back to the ferry. On the return trip back to Manhattan you should ride on the left side of the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty again.

Sure, you’ll find the Staten Island Ferry on almost every New York City tourist guide, but there’s a reason. This free ferry provides great views of the Statue of Liberty and the New York Harbor, and the 25-minute, one-way trip is just long enough. Once across, check out the St. George neighborhood or head back on another ferry for more great views.
