Sendangbiru Beach is a beach on the south coast located on the edge of the Indonesian Ocean, administratively located in Sendangbiru Hamlet, Tambakrejo Village, Sumbermanjing Wetan District, Malang Regency, East Java. Sendangbiru Beach is one of the ecotourism owned by Perum Perhutani and managed by KBM JLPL Unit II. Located in plots 81 and 86 with a standard area of 50 ha and a benefit area of 3 ha, RPH Sumber Agung, BKPH Sumbermanjing, KPH Malang are classified as protected forest. The distance from Malang City is about 67 kilometers and it takes about 2-2.5 hours to get to Sendangbiru Beach. The only means of transportation is a private vehicle, because there is no public transportation that passes there. This beach is not far from Goa China Beach, it only takes about 15 minutes by motorized vehicle. From JLS, the entrance to the beach is also paved. Only some sections of the road are paved. Sendangbiru Beach was first opened in 1970. It's just that at that time it was still a local fisherman. It was only in the 1980s that fishermen from outside the region also entered Sendangbiru. This is because the Pondokdadap fish landing base was built in 1980-1989. This beach is right opposite Sempu Island, only separated by the narrow Sempu Strait and about 4 kilometers long. This strait is suitable for boating or other water sports because its location is protected by Sempu Island. Therefore, this beach is usually used as the entrance to Sempu Island which is famous for its naturalness. The existence of Sempu Island is the main attraction of Sendangbiru Beach. Sempu Island, is a Nature Reserve with a freshwater lake full of catfish in the middle of the forest and also a seawater lake. One of the attractions of this beach is the fish market at the fish auction place (TPI) and tours by diesel-engined boats around the beach. The majority of tourists who come to take a boat and shop for fresh fish because the price is very cheap. The price of fish follows the seasons, so when the waves are high, the price of fish is expensive. Marine products that can be found in Sendangbiru include types of pelagic fish, namely lemurung, kite, anchovies, tuna, mackerel, and squid. As for the type of damersal, among others, stingrays, groupers, white snapper, red snapper and white pomfret as well as other types of export commodities such as tuna, mackerel, cucut, lobster, sea cucumbers, and seaweed. Meanwhile, every year, on September 27, local residents hold a sea picking event (sea alms). The scenery on Sendangbiru Beach is quite interesting. Actually, the clean white sand and clear blue sea water make for a beautiful sight. Colorful fishing boats lean neatly on the shore. The ship is not only used as a means of fishing, but is also rented out for tourists. You can rent the boat to get around the coast. The fees set are not too expensive, only IDR 100,000 for motorized boats and IDR 50,000 for rowed boats. In the middle of the sea, you can look down. There the underwater scenery is clearly visible. The existence of the famous Sendangbiru Beach, cannot be separated from the existence of springs (springs) under the hill where the water is blue. The spring that became the forerunner of the beach is called Sendangbiru until now. The position of the spring is about 1 kilometer from the west coast.
