Petirtaan Watugede is one of the tourist sites that is full of historical value. It is said that this lightning is the location of the bathing place for Kendedes, the consort of Raja Singhasari who is famous for his beauty. No wonder, if many visitors come to this bathing location to get the blessing of beauty and youth. The bathhouse, which was first discovered in 1925 by Dutch archaeologists, is located in Watugede village, Singosari sub-district, Malang district. The location of this bath is about 2 km from Singosari temple. Looking into the bath, you will find an ancient rectangular pool. The walls of the pool are made of ancient bricks that are neatly arranged and strong. The solid foundation of the walls with the partially incomplete condition seems to thicken the ancient impression of this pool. The edge of the pool is decorated with several small statues that serve as the exit for the water that will fill the pool. Uniquely, the water that comes out of the mouth of this statue never stops, even during the dry season. This pool has a stone staircase that makes it easy for visitors to enter the pool. Uniquely, one of the stones on the stairs has a surface with holes, with regular spacing of the holes. It is said that the hole in the stone became a timepiece for the king's daughters who were bathing in the pool. The hollow stone staircase is known as Watu Dakon. Not far from the pond, there is a well which is often used as a place to put offerings. Around the well there are also three stones which are said to be often used as sharpening stones for swords. The sharpened sword is the weapon used to carry out the beheading. The beheading was given to a man who dared to infiltrate the bathing area. The reason is, this bath can only be visited by the King's daughter and her ladies-in-waiting. Not only that, near the well there is also a cave that serves as a shelter for the princesses when danger approaches. Unfortunately, this cave is now in a closed state. Not only full of historical value, this bath has a calm and shady atmosphere. You will find many shady trees around the baths. No wonder you can enjoy the cool air in this bath.
