Sanggariti Temple or Songgoriti is a temple located in Batu City, East Java, Indonesia. This temple is located near a hot spring, around which there are Malang outbound places, as well as a tourist market. Songgoriti is the oldest temple in East Java which is not yet known for certain when its construction period. Allegedly originated from the reign of Mpu Sindok, which was around the 9th to 10th centuries AD when the transfer of power from Central Java to East Java. Part of the body of the temple comes from andesite stone and what can be seen today is the foot of the temple. Songgoriti Temple measures 14.36 x 10 meters, 2.44 meters high. There are niches or hollows in the body of the temple which are used for the statues. The basin in the east is the place for the statue of Ganesha, which is now part of the statue. The north side no longer has a statue because it is missing, and the western niche of the statue is no longer attached, but is stored in the temple environment. The statue is the statue of Agastya which is another form of Lord Shiva. Because the evidence from the statue shows that Songgoriti Temple is a Hindu temple building with the Shiva sect. In the middle of the temple there is a hole until the bottom of the temple is filled with water. On the east side of the temple there is a yellow hot spring, which means the water contains sulfur. According to local folklore, formerly the location of the temple was a crater from a volcano that emitted hot water. Finally, Mpu Supo arrived who built a temple above the crater so that the water didn't flow anywhere. This temple was first discovered in 1799 by Van ijsseldijk, then repaired by Dutch archaeologists in 1849 by Rigg and Brumund in 1863. Major renovations and inventories were carried out by Knebel in 1902 and lasted from 1921 to 1938.
