An absolute must to get a sense of real, local culture. Check out the unsurpassed historic gun vault including Annie Oakley, Billie The Kid, Pancho Villa, Teddy Roosevelt, the first Remington rifles and other famous owner guns on display.
Right by the zoo, this is one of my favorite museums with history of cowboys, the wild west and Native American exhibits.
Spacious museum featuring exhibits with artwork & artifacts, plus a cafe & children's activities.

“This is where little city kids first encounter equestrians. If they take to it, like my daughter did, they end up at the Equestrian Center in Burbank riding and feeding and stabling horses. There are lots of trail riding possibilities in G.P. The stables are located at the western edge of the park. Any excuse to enter these sacred grounds is a good one. Along with Central Park (where I was born), Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis, and the parks of San Francisco and San Diego, I like silver magnate Griffith P. Griffiths gift to the fledgling City of L.A. the best!”
