The Laurel Armory now houses a community center. Many hours are spent here for sporting events, city meetings, and community events. From the City of Laurel's website: "The Armory - Anderson & Murphy Community Center is a 17,964 square foot building constructed in 1927. This building served as the National Guard Armory before being purchased by the City for use by the Parks & Recreation Department. This facility features a gymnasium, meeting rooms, a fitness room, a game room and a gaming lounge. The center hosts many of the programs and activities provided by the Department. Some of the programs include: Class and Workshop programs for children and adults; daytime, evening and weekend Drop-In programs. Additionally the center hosts some of the Department's indoor Sports Programs."
