Home was so beautiful and very clean and cozy! We got to watch the night sky and enjoy the peace and quiet. The beds were super comfortable also! The only downside was the road leading to it was definitely was a pain even in a truck. Be prepared to go off roading, but the house made it worth the drive. The host was very responsive. I thought I left my wallet and got a fast response back and the host even went to check to see if it was there. If you enjoy being outside in nature away from everyone. I recommend this place 100%!

My girlfriends and I traveled to Terlingua for a women's hiking adventure. The property is a little ways away from the Terlingua town. But the views, the privacy and landscape made the distance more than bearable and very worth the stay. All the rooms in the house were spacious and comfortable. Both the front and back patios were very inviting. The house is an open concept which allows everyone freedom of movement. Our beds were comfortable and I slept like a baby both nights we were there. We used the kitchen on our second night for a home cooked steak dinner. All the basic cooking tools are provided. Stephanie and Bruce were very responsive to every message we sent from the time of booking to the time of departure. They offered suggestions and made us feel comfortable and welcome. I would definitely return to Tres Patas at my next visit to the area. The views were absolutely spectacular and we even got to see the Tres Patas bear (from a very safe distance). Book now!

We really enjoyed our stay, home was just as described, comfortable beds and great layout for two couples. We really enjoyed the pool on our two hot afternoons and loved relaxing on the deck. The Mountain views are lovely. Easy drive to restaurants in Terlingua. Highly recommend!

We absolutely loved our stay here. Beautiful views from the porch, comfortable sleeping arrangements, spotless, and had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend.

We loved this rustic getaway in Terlingua Ranch. It was easily accessible with Daryl’s instructions and exactly as described. The place is nestled higher-up between two hills, giving great views of the nearby mountains and desert floor - great for watching sunsets and stargazing. Very good location for access to both BBNP and BBRSP, which were our hiking destinations every day. We had a couple of evening thunderstorms over the course of our stay, which were amazing to experience, but washed out the dirt road a bit, making driving a little more difficult, but manageable. Overall recommend. We’ll be back.

We had such a great time! This place is in a great location — only 10-15 minutes from the Big Bend National Park entrance! The kitchen was spacious and well equipped. We were easily able to cook all our meals there. The space was really clean and comfortable. We brought up all our own drinking water which I would recommend since the water is a little brown when it is first turned on then shortly goes away. I’m sure this is normal for the area since it’s remote and in the desert so it didn’t bother us! Just come prepared. It seems to be one of the bigger and nicer places in the area and you can’t beat the location! We would definitely stay again and we highly recommend!

LOVED our stay in the argosy. So freaking adorable and like my grandmas old airstream. Fantastic location as well! Sue was so great to chat with and we even got to see her two resident roadrunners, Petey and Speedy.

Everything was smooth and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The host was incredibly responsive and thoughtful, offering great local tips and making sure we had everything we needed. The space itself was spotless and cozy. The location was quiet and safe, I will definitely recommend it to friends and family. I’d also like to thank Daryl and Janet because we had a flat tire the day we were leaving, and If it wasn’t for their support we couldn’t have fixed it ourselves. We appreciate the time and effort and we are very grateful for your help. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

A quite comfortable peaceful retreat from the distractions Internet tv and texting

During the stay, we found dozens of moments we were happy we picked Desert Aura. It is hard to remember all of them. We were amazed at the high-quality cooking pans. We were pleasantly surprised to find tons of electrical outlets inside and outside the house. The house even had a humidifier available to use. We loved having the restaurant at the Lodge less than two miles from the house. However, we only went there once. We typically cooked meals in the kitchen or on the outdoor gas grill. I was impressed by how clean they keep the gas grill. It was so nice to finish the day sitting on the beautiful patio, gazing at the stars and satellites. Looking around at the houses along the road, I'd say we stayed at the nicest, largest house in the whole area. Everyone loved how comfy the couches and recliners were. We were also surprised by how comfortable the outdoor furniture was.

We were very pleased with the house. Super clean! They thought of everything from plenty of toilet paper, soap shampoo, binoculars, indoor and outdoor games, and reading information about the area! Well equipped kitchen. You could never leave the property and have a little vacation right where you are. Great star gazing platform to enjoy the beautiful west Texas sky! Daryl provided a really good list of information from how to get there to what to do in the area! Even with the explicit directions from Daryl I would make sure you arrive before dark! We loved our stay!

This house was so great but the BEST thing was the location! It was less than 20 minutes from the entrance to Big Bend and it was super walkable to all the restaurants and shops in ghost town. The house was super cozy and well appointed and very clean. We would absolutely book this again if we came back to big bend. Ps- if you play pickleball, there is a court 20 feet from the house!

La Paloma Triste was just what we were looking for for our two days at Big Bend National Park. Off the beaten path, quiet and with great stars at night.

We loved the place and Daryl's instructions to locate the house made it very easy. The beds were very comfortable and the wifi was excellent. Having a washer and drier was also a plus.

Our home in the desert! Lovely house, beautifully decorated, spacious, well appointed. Has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. We particularly enjoyed the sunrise, the sunset, the silence and gazing at the stars at night. The Wifi is not very strong but it works. The host is responsive and affable. Highly recommended!

Wasnt a bad drive to Terlingua, Big Bend Nat’l Park or Big Bend Ranch State Park. It actually worked out great because we werent far from the Marathon side entrance of BBNP (unpaved road), and we loved the drive going into the park that way. Sitting on the porch after each day of sightseeing was the perfect end to the days. We saw quail and a rabbit while sitting out there. We saw javelina while on the rod getting to the rental. It rained our last night, and it was a good storm, lots of rain, lightning and thunder. Would have loved to have taken a video from inside out, but didnt because of so much lightning. The road leaving from the rental got rough due to all of the water runoff, so for that reason only (heavy rains), low clearance vehicles would have had a tough time getting out. We absolutely LOVED the place!!!!!!

This was a wonderful and peaceful stay. The location is perfect - remote and quiet while also close enough to anything you might need to get in town. It was a new moon during my stay so I was able to get some fantastic night photos of the stars and Milky Way. I definitely hope to get to visit again!

Great location, walkable to local spots to eat and drink. The place was a fun place to stay to get the Terlingua vibe. Great views of the mountains as well. The host is very responsive and proactive.

I highly recommend this home! ⭐The cleaning staff are superstars! The hot tub is so relaxing after a day of hiking. The home and garden decor are beautiful. The entrance to BBNP is only a few minutes away. There are four wonderful patio areas (east sunrise, south courtyard/garden, west sunset, south hot tub). The carport makes unloading/loading your vehicle easier in any kind of weather. Kitchen is fully stocked. Home is very comfortable. Fantastic attention to detail. Thank you, Daryl for an incredible place to stay during my week adventure to BBNP!
