A casa é exatamente como nas fotografias, uma construção de madeira em que nada foi deixado ao acaso e que está repleta de pequenos detalhes e pormenores reveladores do amor e carinho com que foi construída e apreciada. Como qualquer casa de madeira, já vai mostrando pequenos pontos a precisar de manutenção, mas nada de grave. A vista da casa no alpendre exterior é deslumbrante e foi precisamente o que mais adorámos. Ficar no exterior à noite, a observar a imensidão do céu estrelado e em silêncio, apenas com o som do mar, foi igualmente agradável. Casa perfeita para nos acolher com a nossa família. Partimos com muita vontade de regressar por mais dias. Pequenos eletrodomésticos em falta podem melhorar a experiência (chaleira ou cafeteira). No terreno contíguo da casa está a ser construída uma nova habitação, o que retira privacidade ao alpendre. Os trabalhadores são respeitosos e não começam a fazer barulho muito cedo.

This is where you want to be! Pool large enough for short laps. The house is huge! Lucas' relatives are across the driveway and very helpful with issues. Expect some family activity, but other times completely quiet, and we had the pool to ourselves whenever we used it. Rental car needed.

Hanspeter war ein zuvorkommender Gastgeber und wir sind dankbar für seine tatkräftige organisatorische Unterstützung bereits im Vorfeld unserer Reise. Die Bungalows sind sehr hübsch eingerichtet und äusserst sauber. Sie befinden sich am Ortsrand, zum Strand sind es nur wenige Gehminuten und Abends herrscht etwas mehr Ruhe, als in der Dorfmitte. Wer Erholung und Ruhe gepaart mit warmen Klima sucht, wird von Maio und Hanspeter nicht enttäuscht sein!

Das Haus ist sehr hübsch, etwas ab vom Schuss, wenn es um Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants geht. Aber Jean-Christophe ist sehr entgegenkommend und unterstützt am ersten Tag mit dem Einkauf. Betten sind etwas durchgelegen.

Gentillement Bernard a accepté de venir nous chercher gratuitement à notre hébergement précédent. Il nous a logé dans une maison plus grande très agréable. Valérie et Bernard font tout pour que notre séjour soit agréable :prêt de vélos, conseils avisés, nous avons beaucoup apprécié la visite chez son ami Raphaël Colicci qui a fondé la ferme d'agroforesterie Maioasis :un projet extraordinaire pour développer des fermes autonomes à but social et solidaire sur l'île de Maio.

Logement très agréable, bien placé et très propre sur la magnifique île de Maio. Nous sommes arrivés à 9h du matin et avons pu directement accéder au logement avec un transport inclus depuis le port. La piscine à débordement est très bien entretenue et permet de contempler parfaitement le couché de soleil. Un accès à une plage privée est également présent et permet une extrême tranquillité.

We were so glad we chose Casa Aloé Vera for our stay in Santiago - it was the perfect place to explore the island from. We loved eating Vany's delicious breakfasts watching the local birds from the veranda in the morning - the kingfishers are beautiful! The cottage is in a great location, just a 15-20 minute walk to Cidade Velha where there are some good restaurants and the fantastic UNESCO sights to explore. Inside the house itself is really homely, with everything you'd need to make your stay comfortable. Sonia was very communicative and even helped us find a travel agent to help with internal flight before we'd even. We'd love to return one day to this little spot of paradise.

Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été accueillis comme si nous faisions partie de la famille. Nos hôtes nous ont transmis avec passion leurs connaissances sur l’histoire du Cap-Vert, la flore, la faune et leur magnifique projet de conservation botanique et agroécologique. Loin d’un séjour classique, cette expérience nous a offert une immersion totale dans un cadre naturel préservé, où chaque échange et chaque découverte avaient une valeur précieuse. Le logement était plus que correct, confortable et parfaitement intégré à l’environnement. Pour les amoureux de la nature, les aventuriers et ceux en quête de sens, cet endroit est un véritable havre de paix. Patricia and her husband offer a magnificent house with the most beautiful view! The apartment offered everything we needed - a pool, quiet rooms, a well equipped kitchen and an outdoor BBQ and all support we could think of of Patricia and her staff. All in all: we had a wonderful stay in Maio, it is really an island to calm down, enjoy nature, sun and the sea. Thanks a lot!

Wir hatten eine großartige Zeit in Maio in der Villa Lemon. Kann es von ganzem Herzen weiter empfehlen. Ruhig, sauber, toller Pool, wunderschöner Blick, tolle Villa. Patricia ist sehr sympathisch und jederzeit erreichbar, um jeden Wunsch zu erfüllen. Vielen Dank für Alles! Marion und Rudolf

The unit is just as shown in the pictures. Very nice and clean place. New Development. Building seems to be very safe. A key is needed for the main door to access inside in the building. Safety and security was big for me and this place did feel secure. The cleaning lady was amazing and helpful. Rooftop is shared so laundry is left to dry up there but I never had any issues with my neighbors. Only downsides were the water did run out and we did not have any running water for a few hours. The master bedroom door did lock on it’s own and would not open, there was an issue with the handle it came loose and was not operating properly. Besides those two hiccups I enjoyed my time there. I stayed for about 15 days and felt at home.

Absolutely adored this place! My parents and I enjoyed the quiet apartment, the security was always very friendly, the whole building felt super safe. The pool was extremely pleasant and easy access. The apartment itself is a lot bigger than we thought so that was a pleasant surprise. The hosts are very responsive and friendly. Would love to come back! 🥰

Haus entspricht der Beschreibung, Pool ist sehr angenehm, Umgebung ruhig, Eunice ist aufmerksam, freundlich und hilfsbereit, Auto oder Scooter nötig, da am Stadtrand.

nous avons passé un super séjour à l'appartement Tabanka. je l'ai trouvé encore mieux que ce a quoi je m'attendais. Les chambres sont spacieuses et ont chacune une salle de bain, la cuisine est enfermée dans le couloir mais au quotidien nous vivons sur la magnifique terrasse et la porte est toujours ouverte donc cela n'est pas un problème. c'est très calme, nous avons bien dormi et belle vue sur la mer.

Logement super et accueil chaleureux par Fabrice et Magali, que demander de plus ? La vue sur la mer est fabuleuse, et la nuit le bruit des vagues berce votre sommeil. La douche est sans doute une des meilleures de l'ïle (pression et eau chaude). Le lieu d'accueil, Ribeira da Prata, est un petit village très sympa (avec une superbe plage) que nous avons préféré à son voisin Tarrafal, plus anonyme. Pour conclure, une adresse à ne pas louper !!!

Was für eine schöne Zeit hatten wir in dieser Unterkunft! Von Beginn an sehr wohlgefühlt. Supernette und hilfreiche Host ❣️ Und ich wusste gar nicht, wie sehr ich das Liegen in Hängematten mag. Danke für die schöne Zeit!

All the laudatory comments of previous visitors are true and there is not much to add. This unique valley has so much to offer, if you are interested in Landscape, Plants, Geology, Hiking, People… Some physical fitness is helpful. My tip: a two nights stay might not be enough to explore. Another plus: the food offered by Iolanda and Johannes (a trained cook!) is exceptional and shouldn’t be missed under any pretext. Iolanda and Johannes are both outstanding hosts. WiFi can be spotty but the cellphone reception is very good so you might want to think about using your phone as a local hotspot, if urgently needed. Highly recommended!

Die Unterkunft von Iolanda und Johannes war genau, wie es beschrieben war, und wie wir es uns gewünscht hatten: mitten in der Natur mit einer tollen Aussicht. Man darf halt keine Spinnen- oder Mäusephobie haben :-), aber Mosquitonetze sind vorhanden. Wir wurden bei der Ankunft freundlich in Iolandas Restaurant empfangen, wo das Essen immer super schmeckte. Johannes gab uns gleich nach Ankunft detaillierte Wandertipps für die nächsten Tage und hat unser Gepäck mit dem Pick-up zur Unterkunft gebracht. Die Tage im Dorf Principal waren wunderschön.

Je moet ervan houden om tussen de locals te zitten, maar wij hebben daar van genoten. Huisje is heel mooi.

Le logement est très correct,les équipements sont bons. Les commerces et la mer sont proches. Mais surtout Maria est exceptionnelle,proche,réactive, sympathique. Excellente pâtissière,elle nous à offert de bon gâteau. On se sent comme chez soi. Son mari parle anglais et un peu le Français. Je recommande cette belle expérience

Très bon logement, un peu excentré. Bien équipé et propre. Nous avons été bien accueilli par sa maman.
