We love staying at the Gables Apartment . Beautiful location on the waterfront . Apartment is well appointed and very comfortable Perfect retreat to restore the soul Kelly is a wonderful host very helpful and accommodating

Shelley & Graham were amazing hosts, incredibly welcoming and very knowledgeable of the local area. They made our stay in Paihia feel like home away from home, and the guest suite was more than we could have expected ! We will definitely be staying there next time we are in town !

Lovely property with everything you could need! Deborah was a fantastic host - incredibly friendly and kind! 5 mins walk to Hihi beach and town only a short 10-15min drive away this is a perfect spot to explore the area. I’ll definitely stay again if I’m back in the area. Many thanks indeed for letting me stay!

Although the weather wasn’t great, our stay was lovely. Peter and Jacqueline let us know right away that the spa was broken but that they were working to get it fixed as soon as possible. They even brought us chocolates to make up for it. We were very happy to get to use it on our last morning. The view was fantastic!

One of the things that’s hard about finding a place in a new place is the sense of relative distances. We were further outside of town than we had expected, but man was it worth it. The views down to the bay were spectacular. And being from the northern hemisphere, the night sky is of particular interest. We were lucky with high pressure, so being just far enough outside of town gave us breathtaking star gazing. Jo was so helpful in making suggestions for places to see, quickly able to help us prioritize based on the way we roll, a good mix of walking and driving, a wonderful resource and real hospitality pro. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Lovely place nestled in the hills of Russell. Little drive into the main town but nice relaxed area. Place was spacious. There are a few other rooms but not really an issue. Views are great.

Spacious loft with a great view over the forest and into the Bay. Very cozy, clean and thoughtfully equipped (including special towels for a visit at the Ngawha Springs). John and Aynsley are very welcoming and responsive hosts. We’ll come back when travelling Northland again in the future.

Great location - walkable to Paihia waterfront but away from the bustle of the main road. It was very clean and had everything we needed including kitchen utensils. The bathroom was nice and spacious with the spa being a very nice bonus.

This was a great stop on our way to Cape Reinga. Sorry we couldn't stay longer as there is so much to see and do nearby. Certainly worth a couple of nights if you can...

Fantastic place. Very well placed for the beaches and only a short drive into Mangonui for restaurants. Very comfortable beds, beautiful bathrooms. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely peaceful few days here to start our family adventure in New Zealand. We arrived very jet lagged but were easily able settle into the comfortable apartment and all slept well. Breakfasts were enjoyed on the deck looking at the Point and down to the water. Birds sang all day. It’s a quick drive to Russell (decent coffee and friendly at Hellhole). We stayed very local, walking a couple of easy tracks and swimming in the calm sandy bay at the bottom of the road. The highlight of the trip was heading out in the evening with Douglas to kiwi spot. Our daughters really wanted to see a kiwi in the wild and this was the reason we booked to stay here. Douglas was very generous with his time and knowledge. When kiwi eluded us we went out another time. We did, when we had just about given up hope, find a kiwi and it will be a life long memory for us all. Douglas, and his brother William who lives below were kind and responsive hosts. We thoroughly recommend!

This place has amazing views of the water and sand dunes. Has everything thing you need to cook meals. In a suburban street with houses close by. Lovely small towns to discover and walks to fantastic views only a short drive away. We took a drive to the forest to look at the Large Kauri pines which was fantastic.

This is the most beautiful house in the most stunning of locations. You will never get tired of the views 😍 Donna was amazing as our host and we will absolutely be returning.
