The Escape Hatch is the perfect get away. It's location is private and quiet but yet it is not far from numerous area activities. The large deck has gorgeous views of the lake and can accommodate all your guests. The house is very well stocked with pretty much everything you will need. The hosts are very responsive and easy to deal with, making our stay very easy and comfortable. Looking forward to our next visit.

I have to say, this house really set the bar for our kids. Great big house, two living room areas, four nice-sized bedrooms. The kids LOVED the games (arcade, shuffleboard) and the kitchen had lots of great extras (salt & pepper, etc). Our dog also had a blast, plenty of space to walk her in the backyard and down the street. We walked down to the Lake, which was available to us but not really a place to hang out. Highly recommend the thrift shops nearby (Plum Pickings, for one). Would absolutely stay here again!

My friends and I had the best gals weekend. The house was warm and welcoming, and we felt right at home. This was a lovely home that had everything we needed and more to just relax and enjoy all the area had to offer. I would recommend this home and would very much enjoy booking again!

I would rate this house a 5 out of 5. The house looked just like the pictures . It was very clean . The host was very responsive, she was great. My family enjoyed the fire place located on the side of the house . There appeared to be a spider issue in the house . We saw a couple and had to kill them. The shower in the basement was very small. Besides that my family and I had a great blended thanksgiving and would definitely rent again . Thank you for everything Angela !!!

Tracy was very welcoming, informative and accommodating. She was very available if we had any concerns. We were planning a boat trip on the lake and she helped coordinate a boat rental that led to a lovely day on the water. Her mom is cozy and tidy and we felt very comfortable there.

The space is peaceful and spacious. We felt right at home and had plenty of space indoors and outdoors to spread out. Kevin was a great host. He was quick to respond if I had any questions or needs. We would definitely come back and no one wanted to leave.

This was the perfect spot for our friend group to get away for the weekend. There’s tonnes of sleeping spaces, and the common areas easily fit our group of 9 adults for meals, movies, and games.

I enjoyed my stay and was surprised when John on his own sent me a list of things to do and restaurants around the area. He was very helpful to make sure I had all I needed in the house. The place was clean and well maintained. No complaints, definitely recommend if you want to be near DC but not stay in the DC area to rest.

La anfitriona es muy amable y atenta. Tuve varias dudas sobre el lugar y el hospedaje, y respondió a todas ellas. Hubo un pequeño inconveniente para poder acceder al departamento y al wifi a la llegada, debido a que no tenía un número de EEUU la comunicación fue compleja en ese momento, pero se superó de manera óptima y rápida. Por otro lado, al no ser de la zona, no tenía noción de que espacios como la piscina no están disponibles en estas fechas, me habría gustado eso se indicara en el anuncio. Pero, en general, la estadía fue agradable, cómoda y me sentí respaldada por la anfitriona en mi primera visita a la ciudad.

Very responsive was always willing to accommodate! Any question I had, he responded quickly and always had an answer! Very very clear and nice!

What a fun long-weekend. We enjoyed the kayaks and we literally spent the whole weekend in the lake. We didn’t even mind that the water was cold, being early spring. The house is really clean and beds are comfortable. The kitchen has the basic necessities and we didn’t have any problem cooking all meals there. We will definitely be back.

Our group had a wonderful stay. The land was beautiful, quiet and we all felt comfortable. We would definitely like to come back next year!

Had a wonderful stay within walking distance to Lake Anna. The house was amazing and perfectly suited for our guests. The home was clean and inviting from the moment we arrived. We would love to come again and stay for a future trip. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage. The cottage is completely remodeled and provides a great space for a small family to interact and enjoy the lake. We had a mix of cooking on the Blackstone/kitchen and eating at some of the local restaurants on the lake. Christine and her husband were very friendly and accommodating. We had a wonderful week on the lake. We used paddleboards and rented boats and wave runners from the local marinas. Smores by the fire pit were a bonus!

We had an incredible stay! The host Jae is very responsive. The place is perfect for anyone who loves fishing, kayaking, and water sports. The location is unbeatable, with easy access to the water and all the equipment you could need. The peaceful surroundings made it even more enjoyable. Everything was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Highly recommend for outdoor enthusiasts—can’t wait to come back!

We had a fun and relaxing stay at Amber's place. We enjoyed using the kayaks, bbq grill and board games as well as taking a tour of the community. There was enough space for my 7 guests.

We heartily recommend this place to anyone looking for some quiet downtime that's still pretty close to historic sites, restaurants and shopping. We know the hosts, Micah and Jeff, so we trust them to provide quality. But we've also been frequent AirnB and way-too-frequent hotel guests, and we can be picky about accommodations. This cottage is top-notch: comfortable and peaceful with all the amenities you'll need. It's homey, which is certainly better than a sterile hotel with slamming doors and traffic outside. Be sure to check out the pond down the lane. If you're a birder and nature lover, this is a good spot. I look forward to returning with my telescope to check out the dark sky. Convenient to downtown Fredericksburg, Civil War battlefields, King's Dominion and a relatively short drive to Short Pump shopping, if that's your thing.
