This was the perfect place for a weekend getaway! It's so quiet and peaceful, surrounded by beautiful trees. There are also nice hiking trails nearby! The hosts were super friendly. I was greeted when I got to their property, and they were quick to respond to any questions I had. The cabin was so quaint and comfortable! I recommend this place if you want a quiet getaway!

Clean and comfortable property in a beautiful location. I enjoyed my stay at Puppet Inn. The rooms were exactly as described and pictured in the listing. The property was very clean and orderly. All of the Pinocchio and Disney theming was fun. I appreciated the guest guide with instructions for things around the home, plus a ton of recommendations for local businesses, restaurants and activities. Located close to the town and very convenient for Ray’s woodworking class. Thank you Ray and Marisa for a great stay!

The lofts in Downieville are airy, clean, and well-outfitted. The bed is comfortable, and the queen fold-out in the living room worked well. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need. Downieville is our favorite place to visit in California and Sonya's lofts offer everything you need for a pleasant stay. Highly recommended!

Eli’s place was perfect for my needs while working on the American River. I needed a quiet place to shower, eat, do some computer work, and sleep after long days in the sun and water. I stayed for 5 nights and it was exactly what I was looking for.

Such a comfortable, peaceful space. It was perfect for 2 couples for the weekend - we were there for a trail running race in the area. The only thing that could have been better was the weather so that we might’ve enjoyed the beautiful deck! Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Very new, very comfortable, close to everything you need, beautiful neighborhood. As mentioned in other reviews it is a little loud at times but if you just shut the window it blocks out all of the outside noise. The town has a noise ordinance at night but they need one in the morning ! Kitchen has everything we needed to cook breakfast and have coffee and tea. John is a great host and made it very easy for use to enjoy the beauty and rich history of Nevada city. Cheers !

We enjoyed our stay very much. The home was exactly as pictured and very comfortable. Our boys loved the upstairs room with the two twin beds (although if they were smaller I might have worried about them on the stairs, as there is no railing for the last several steps). We loved the cozy fireplace and the hot tub, and enjoyed not having to use our car at all once we arrived— plenty to see and do in walking distance, including a nice park for the dog and kids. Amazing place to stay.. I would stay here again without hesitation. Beautiful and very peaceful!! Home was spotless and plenty of towels and linen. Everything was absolutely perfect with plenty of room for 5 people. The only downside was we didn’t get to see yogi or boo boo.. Maybe next time!!

Absolutely perfect place for our stay. From spacious rooms to the outstanding views. Kitchen was well equipped and lovely. The main floor was easily accessible from the side door on the driveway side. Loved all the eclectic decorative touches.
