She’s a little “rough around the edges”, hence the name, but is safe, comfortable and charming. Your perfect couples getaway only 2 hours from Adelaide. Stables by the Vines

In 1856, an English stonemason, Thompson Priest, began mining slate in Mintaro. At the same time, he built a home with stables at the rear of his property. Over the intervening years, the stables fell into a desperate state, however, recently, the Stable has returned to life through a sensitive restoration and refurbishment. Set on the edge of Reillys Winery, the Stable is a 100m walk through the vines to the cellar door and further 20 metres to the renowned Magpie Stump Hotel.

You'll love the walks you can take after dinner and the rumpus room is the perfect place to sit by the Pot Belly Fire and watch a movie. If you're into mountain bikes, Melrose is one of the best attractions in South Australia. If you don't have a bike, you can hire them in town. Spencer Gulf great fishing & crabbing jetty walks.

We are in the Southern Flinders Ranges with National Parks within easy reach. Pt. Germein is an historic Port town with 1.3 km wooden jetty, perfect for fishing and crabbing. The cottage is located in the grounds of St Clement's Anglican Church circa 1863 now a private residence. Only 23 kms from major rural city of Pt. Pirie. Cottage is self contained and would be described as bright and fresh set in an Australian native garden with undercover car parking.

Clare to Spalding character escape

A fully self-contained studio with kitchenette, en suite bathroom, walk-in shower, spa and shared laundry. This new-build facility is attached to the historic former Uniting Church in Spalding. Enjoy a relaxing overnight stay or respite for longer visits with the en suite spa bath, fully equipped kitchenette and shared laundry. Some food essentials: tea, coffee, sugar, olive oil, milk, butter and condiments are provided, however meals are not included.

Alex's Country House

Alex's house is located in the South Australian town of Laura in the southern Flinders Ranges. Built in the early 1900's, this gracious comfortable house has a relaxed feel with generous rooms, high ceilings and modern amenities. It is filled with books, art, trashy novels, board games and spaces to play them or watch tv and lounge in front of the fire with a glass of local wine.

Beautiful and quaint, 2 bedroom cottage located 15kms from Melrose along the picturesque Survey Road. 17kms to Wirrabara and 300m from the eastern end of the popular Bridle Track. Situated on a working sheep and cattle farm, near a seasonal creek, private and peaceful with its own secret garden. Come and relax and listen to the birds sing.
