Swany’s beautiful home is more than an Airbnb, it’s an experience. First the setting. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a more beautiful place in the world. Looking across the fjord at the snow capped mountains, watching the boats go by and hoping for a glimpse of a humpback whale. Just incredible. Our accommodations in the main house were perfect for our family of five. The rooms were comfortable, and the bathroom was large and pristine. We had such a fun time meeting the other travelers and sharing a kitchen with fellow adventures from Canada and Australia. If Swany’s place is available for your travel dates, do yourself a favor and book it as soon as possible. I would return to Iceland specifically to go to Hauganes and Sela Retreat. We hope to return soon! Thank you to Swany for being such a lovely host and welcoming us so warmly.

We stayed a couple of nights and had a great time, especially with the recommendations of the area that you can find in the flat. The walls are a bit thin so if you are a light sleeper and there is other people I would recommend to bring earplugs. Kitchen is well equipment and everyone we met was super friendly.

Very cozy cottage! Enjoyed waking up to the Mountain View’s and animals on the property! Bathroom was clean and host provided extra towels and blankets!

We enjoyed our stay at your house, particularly the heated floors (ahhhhh, so nice!) and our horse ride. Thank you!

Clean place to spend the night.

this place was a gem, probably also because we saw amazing northern light when we stayed there, but the area is very nice and quiet. the place was clean and checkin worked easily through the host. the only problem we had there were the other guests who took all their riding shoes and clothing into the community area, so the whole placed smelled awfully strong like horses. i can‘t blame the hosts for that at all, i just think there are a lot of horse riding guests there, so if you are not into that smell, it could be an issue for you too. the price was great compared to other places we stayed as a trio. :)

Our stay in Öxnadalur was one of the most impressive we’ve ever had. The house was charming and we felt immediately at home. The surrounding nature and view on the mountains is breathtaking! We spent hours sipping coffee at the fire place, while the wind and snow were howling outside or watching beautiful northern lights right in front of the door. Sif and Oli were always very helpful when we were asking for any help or recommendations. It is definitely worth a visit and a real adventure in winter times.

We had to arrive a day later because of harsh weather but there was no problem at all. The host is very sweet and will do anything to give you an amazing stay. :)

Hi, we had an amazing time at Helluland Guesthouse. We enjoyed the hospitality, the well equipped kitchen, the cozy living room and of course, the magnificent environment. Close to sea, mountains and rivers and only a few kilometers away from Saudarkrokur. Good location to do horse riding (next door), rafting, to visit the fjord and island. Nice swimming pool in Hofsos or hotpot Fosslaug next to a beautiful waterfall. Thanks a lot for your hospitality, Peony

Eydís’s guesthouse is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay if you find yourself in Northern Iceland! Not only was the guesthouse cozy and inviting, Eydís happily showed us around the farm and made recommendations for local activities. This is also the perfect Aurora viewing spot - there is minimal light at night over a huge valley. You should also purchase the breakfast - the homemade bread and jam was delicious! We will absolutely stay here again when we’re back in Iceland.

The house has the nicest view, we could see a great sunset and I enyojed the company of all the animals (horses, sheep, geese, cats). They were really helpful abd answered super fast.

This place was very nice. It is a house separated from the house where the host and their family live, so you are sharing the common spaces with other fellow travelers. The hostess was kind and accommodating, we were able to visit the lambs and watch them being fed. The location is beautiful.

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour chez Eydis. Endroit très paisible à 20 min de Varmahlid avec vue sur la montagne et les animaux. Le petit déjeuner était excellent tout comme la viande de la ferme disponible à l'achat. Notre fils a même pu donner le biberon aux agneaux d'Eydis et faire du cheval dans la ferme d'à-côté ! En bref : top.

Nos trois jours sont passés très vite.... Nous avions un pêcheur avec nous et jenny a été très sympa....pour lui montrer le spot...et lui a amené du matériel de peche.... Tout était super.....nous serions bien restés plus longtemps

This is the best Airbnb I have ever stayed in. Beautiful. Comfortable. Right on the fjord where you can watch whales and porpoises easily. Several hot tub options. Spacious yet cozy and well appointed. This was an amazing place to stay in an amazing area!

It was slightly off the beaten track but lovely view, and I could make friends with all her cats and dog. It was close to the horseback riding place where I spent two and a half hours before going down the road to find by place to stay for the night. Very convenient. We spent a very long time talking about lots of things. And she made a recommendation for me, since she knew which direction I was headed, that was fantastic...

Eydis y su familia nos han acogido como en nuestra casa, se han portado genial. Hemos podido compartir su Jacuzzi privado con aguas termales con una buena charla sobre sus costumbres e incluso disfrutar allí de una bebida gaseosa, gracias a su hospitalidad. Me ha encantado poder practicar alemán con ella, lo tenía un poco olvidado. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente a cualquier viajero. Gracias!!
