Perfect location for exploring the Shetland Isles and mainland. We were lucky enough to be there when the RNLI had their 4th shout of 2025 and had the perfect spot to watch the launch.

With friendly, helpful hosts and a cosy, warm atmosphere, this one of the best places we’ve stayed. From the breathtaking views to the comfy and beautifully equipped accommodation with its warm and relaxing spa, Niki and Piet have created a true oasis of tranquility in a hectic world. While Shetland itself was even better than we’d hoped for, our trip was made truly special with our stay at Voortrekker.

Spacious home with a harbor view in the heart of Scalloway, within walking distance of excellent restaurants and the outstanding Scalloway museum.

Lovely property, host was very responsive and accommodating. Would not hesitate to recommend or re-book.

I would recommend the location and comfort of this accommodation- The WiFi played up but this was after a storm and we were constantly out and about. I would love to come back!

I stayed at Heather and Gordon’s studio for a couple of days and could not have asked for a better place to stay in mainland Shetland. Close to Lerwick that you can get into town to get groceries or petrol but quiet enough that you still get that seaside feel. A 30min drive away from most places and a fantastic location if you fancy going for some long hikes in the mainland. The studio itself was so cozy and pristine and I couldn’t have felt more at home and comfortable! Heather and Gordon even gave me flexibility to check out later if needed. Could not recommend Heather and Gordon’s place enough! Thank you for a lovely stay!

We loved our stay at Suzanne's apartment in Lerwick. The location, although somewhat difficult to find at first, was amazing.......just a few steps above the Lodberries in the heart of the town. The apartment was tastefully and comfortably furnished and was very spacious. We really appreciated the privacy and the ability to self-cater provided by a well-equipped and complete kitchen. Although it was very cold on Shetland at the time the Bnb was warm and cosy and so welcoming to come home to after a day out in the weather. Suzanne has provided all amenities we could hope for and we were even able to do a load of washing in the automatic machine provided. Thank you for a wonderful visit Suzanne. We really would have loved to stay longer!

I loved staying in the Weaving Shed studio - I loved its privacy and peacefulness. It is in a beautiful area and I was able to go to Eshaness twice to see the place in different weather. The nearby beach was also a delight. Thanks to all the facilities in the flat and a well-stocked shop just across the road I was able to be self-sufficient. NCDC staff were very responsive and the Northern Lights alert messages were an extra sweet touch - many thanks. I'd love to visit the place again, and as an artist I would use it for self-directed residency.

Daisyside is a lovely home, so clean and pristine, we felt like we were entering just-completed residence. The kitchen is very well-equipped even with beyond the basics herbs and spices and the oven was spotless. The adjacent A970 is very quiet at nighttime and so useful for getting to Northmavine and hikes like Ronas Hill and Eshaness, as well as to Muckle Roe and Da Hams. The house is well-situated for a run out to Wethersta, or a drive across to Busta House for a pleasant meal. Frankie's Fish & Chips in Brae has delicious scallops. Wendy & Jeffery are very responsive and quickly replaced a faulty toaster that tripped the electrics.

This is a lovely space in Lerwick. Everything is so handy, you can pop to the Local Arts venue/cinema for coffee just down the road. The corner shop is 1 minute away. Pubs and eateries all within in easy reach. Pet friendly. Such a cool flat as well, wonderful plants everywhere and funky decor. We loved it. We would definitely book again. Saul is an excellent communicator.

What a wonderful place! Perfect if you want to get away from it all and enjoy many home comforts. Sylvia was fabulous. We arrived at dead of night in thick snow after a flight delay due to extreme weather. Sylvia quickly contacted a friendly neighbour who came around instantly with a shovel to clear the snow. Her kitchen is the best stocked one I have ever stayed at. Vidlin is a great base to explore Shetland including the far north islands of Yell and Unst. The whole area is a walkers paradise with beautiful scenery all around. Due to the season most tourist places are closed so you need to be a pretty independent traveller. Stock up on food shopping in Lerwick although there is a small convenience store a short walk away - no pubs or close by restaurants/cafes.

Our stay in lerwick was wonderful From the beginning, communication with Averill was amazing, we were given very easy instructions on how to get there, where to find everything and the heat was on when we arrived, so everything was cozy and comfortable. We did have a little bump in our stay, as there was only one bed made, but I messaged Averill and Graham was at the place in minutes, to make the bed up. It also allowed us a chance to meet one half of our hosts, and I'm very glad we did. We needed a home away from home, close to the high street and where we could rest our weary bones after a hard days work, and this place was that and more Thank you so much and all the best

The photos really don't do the house justice, beautiful and cosy. Very spacious and well equipped. Lots of games to keep kids entertained and peaceful spaces for the grown ups. Cooking was delightful in the lovely kitchen, nice hot showers and dreamy beds. Fire place and gorgeous views added to the ambience. Definitely recommended and will revisit ASAP!!!

My stay with Dave and Debbie for wool week was absolutely wonderful. They are so welcoming and have a beautiful home. Broonie and Wee Boy were also lovely! The house itself is in such a beautiful location - very peaceful and relaxing. The guest facilities were great with plenty of room to relax in the evenings and cook my dinners. The bedroom is very quiet and has a comfortable warm bed. Debbie’s breakfasts were wonderful and kept me going for several hours. This is by far the best Airbnb I have every stayed at. I had a lovely time and will definitely stay again the the future!

This home is in a very peaceful, beautiful location. If you are looking to unwind this is the place. The home itself is absolutely clutter free and the kitchen has everything you need to enjoy home cooked meals. The Shetland ponies across the road were fun to watch!

A very spacious, discrete, comfortable and well equipped home, optimally placed to explore the full extent of the islands. The nearby CoOp and garage in Brae have all the supplies you need. Fresh mussels and scallops available daily from the shellfish farm across the bay. Amazing wildlife, including otters on the lawn. Nikita is a super host, very supportive with good ideas, such as where to spot Orcas. The nearby Brae hotel does good dinners. Thoroughly recommend staying as long as you can to enjoy a special place, people and wildlife in the British Isles. Thanks Nikita!

Appartement très bien isolé et équipé situé au 2ème étage dans Lerwick sur un des axes principaux. Tout est accessible à pied en moins d'un kilomètre : le ferry, le supermarché, la rue commerçante, le centre ville... Pas de difficultés de stationnement si vous venez en voiture. Le rez de chaussée est occupé par un magasin d'ameublement et de fournitures pour la maisons. Appartement bien isolé. Voisins charmants. A noter en face un pub (un peu de bruit en soirée le vendredi et le samedi soir sans aucun excès...) et un fish and chip pour dépannage...

This was such a great place! thing was wonderful in giving suggestions of things to do, restaurants to eat at, and ways to make my trip memorable. Jane was an outstanding host, and had breakfast, and often times lunch or dinner ready throughout the day. Her and her husband were so lovely to talk to and spend time with. They introduced me to friends of theirs, and even invited me out for dinner with them. This was so nice since I was traveling alone. I felt like when I left I had many friends in Lerwick. It was such a special vacation for me!

The Bains Beach apartment was a perfect home from home for our Shetland stay. The views were irresistible and so many thoughtful touches that made it feel so homely and welcoming. A great location, easy nearby parking and we were very lucky to be able to get early access and later check out - that really helped with ferry timings.

The loft apartment is well appointed, right in the middle of Lerwick and it has everything that you need and top it all up, beautiful harbour view. There is no better place to stay in Lerwick. Justin was a great host. It was a most delightful surprise to be welcome with delicious Shetland shortbread and sparkling wine. Justin is a very considerate host, excellent communication. I cannot recommend enough. If you a planning a visit to Shetland, there is not better place to stay than the Loft Apartment in Lerwick. A magical place! Justin, thank you so much for being a most wonderful host.
