This house is amazing! It accommodated my large family and made us feel right at home after a long day on the road. The kids loved the large yard, sports court, work out area, and walking down to the river. The house is spotless and the kitchen well stocked.

My favorite south Humboldt getaway! The creek, the hot tub, comfy beds and the adjacent state redwood grove made this place an exceptional stay! Already planning our return! Key tip- use the pull offs when you’re going thru the grove on the way to the property and hike down and around some impressive old growth. No crowds and I saw 2 bald eagles ! Magical ! If cozy were a place, it’d be this spot in Garberville. Safe, peaceful, and super inviting. The outdoor space is a whole vibe—multiple seating areas, a hot tub and sauna that made chilly nights feel dreamy, and even a juicer in the fully stocked kitchen (because why not make fresh juice in the forest?). Despite being dog and 420 friendly, it was spotless—way cleaner than many “no pets” stays. We loved the extra blankets and towels, especially for foggy mornings and hot tub dips. The house heats up fast, and the grocery store is just minutes away. Our pup loved the yard, but be warned: furry friends will get moist from that classic Humboldt dew. Also, major bonus points for the thoughtfulness that went into every detail—from cozy lighting to clear instructions. We felt right at home and can’t wait to return. Whether you’re soaking, sipping, cooking, or just stargazing, this place has it all. 10/10. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

We loved the quiet serenity of Sara's place. The acorn woodpeckers were out in the trees to greet us in the morning and the views from the deck were of misty mountains and ancient trees. The space was beautifully appointed and comfortable, with all the utensils and cooking needs we could require. Sara greeted us in person to show us around and ensure that we had a good stay. I would definitely come back to this haven.

Shelter Cove is a hidden gem in California & this house is the BEST way to enjoy it. The house is directly on the ocean! The views from the living room, kitchen & my bed room were absolutely spectacular. The house was so clean. The sofas were super comfortable. The downstairs bathroom has a huge tub & the water gets really hot. Multiple beaches within walking distance & lots of sea lions near the lighthouse! Mario's bar & restaurant is also walkable and we met so many kind locals there who told us a lot about Shelter Cove. We saw deer grazing the grass all over town everyday. There's even a shower in the garage you can use after going to the ocean before entering the house. The host's were so kind to leave us a complimentary bottle of local wine & a nice note for us upon entering the house. We had such a great stay here and will definitely be coming back in the future. We were so lucky to find this place. Thanks Todd for letting us stay at your beautiful home!

My experience definitely exceeded expectations! Excellent kitchen with all of the cooking amenities I needed (including an outdoor propane grill)! Marcedes was very responsive to all of my questions before and after check-in, she was very friendly and set up the grill for us before we arrived. The home itself is beautiful and cozy (there were even some toys and books for my toddler!). My only flag is that there is no wifi. This was fine for us because the cell service is good in the area, but may be a challenge for those planning to use wifi. I would definitely stay here again!
