We visited in Spring, when the weather is liable to be cold and wet. The log burner was therefore a big draw in choosing Sara's rental and it did not disappoint. Sitting on comfy sofas watching the fire was a wonderful end to a day of sightseeing. We can recommend Sara's place.

Super break staying in Tracy & Rolys cottage. It really is a warm and comfortable place set in beautiful surroundings. Unfortunately the weather was challenging so we ended up spending more time indoors than we would have liked but that really didn’t matter as the cottage was a real home from home stocked with books and games which we enjoyed. We will definitely return to explore the surrounding countryside in hopefully better weather. We’ve stayed in many cottages and this is right up near the top!

Pauline is lovely and so is her family and her farm. We love Shandy the dog and we are always made to feel so welcome. The Easter eggs were very much appreciated and the toiletries provided are what you might expect at a luxury hotel. We will always stay there when in Glasgow.

We loved our stay at rhe Hayloft! It is so beautiful and incredibly cozy! The perfect plave to come "home" and unwind from our daily outings hiking and exploring the surrounding areas. This was our first trip to Scotland and Dorothy's hospitality and helpful suggestions and having the Hayloft as our home base was absolutely perfect!

Absolutely loved my stay here - it wasn’t long enough! Such a beautiful, cosy little cottage. It was immaculate and beautifully presented, with a very homely, cosy feel. It’s in an amazing location with peaceful surroundings and not too far from all the places I wanted to visit. Sophie was very welcoming and friendly, providing great local knowledge and recommendations. I will differently be back and would recommend this hidden gem to everyone! We had the absolute pleasure of staying here for 3 nights for my partners birthday and can honestly say we enjoyed every single minute. From meeting with Nick the host at check in he was friendly informative and welcoming. To the amazing scenery and amnesties with the beautiful animals. The quality of duvets, towels and bed sheets were amazing! We felt so cozy,comfortable and at home throughout our full stay. A fully equipped kitchen with everything you need. Cozy living room with smart tv was a great addition. Beds were extremely comfortable and curtains were black out so a great night sleep was had. Shower was great pressure and beautiful aaran aromatics body wash shampoo ect all supplied. Spotlessly clean property throughout. We can’t fault our stay at all and cannot wait to return! A lovely stay as my Grandparent was in hospital in Inverness. Louise was really helpful and the property was exactly as described. The log burner was particularly lovely in the evenings after long days visiting the hospital. The milk and coffee was also super appreciated. Thank you for everything. I hope to be back in different circumstances where I can enjoy the beauty of the Black Isle.

As soon as we arrived Alison was there ready to give us any direction we needed. Cottage its self was perfect and provided plenty of space for two people and a big dog! Lovely surrounding area for anything from enjoying the sun by the stream or hikes up the mountains. And about 1 minutes walk from the pub!

We are a family of four with two young girls and felt right at home from the moment we walked in. A very lovely and comfortable cottage, well equipped and Maddie kindly left us milk in the fridge and delicious biscuits on arrival. It's a quick 40 mins to glenshee ski centre and we were lucky enough to have snow. The kids loved sledding and having a winter hike. The cottage is set in a lovely peaceful area near the river amongst blueberry and cherries trees, sadly as we came in winter they were not in bloom but you can tell how magnificent it would have been. Would recommend!

If I could give more than five stars, I would. This place is absolutely amazing. The beds are super comfortable. The space is so cozy. The kitchen is lovely and totally ready for you. The location is a dream. There is a lovely garden and fire pit, and lots of nearby walks to enjoy. We live in Edinburgh and came as a group of friends just wanting a quiet weekend in nature to read and relax — could not have had a better place for it! And a massive shoutout to Susan, the host. Susan was super responsive and helpful — and extremely friendly and kind. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! x

A lovely hidden gem in the beautiful countryside. We absolutely loved our two night stay with our beagle Wilson. The barn is stunning with everything you need. Lovely fresh linen, fluffy towels and robes for when you get out of the hot tub with stunning views which is amazing! An absolute bonus to be able to watch the sheep and lambs so close by! Kaye and Jonathan were friendly and really helpful. We feel totally relaxed and refreshed. Thank you for a lovely stay and I’m sure we will be booking again soon ☺️

We couldn't recommend the property highly enough. Excellent property in a quiet and private location, the living area is very well designed and facilities contributed to making our stay very comfortable.

Great stay in the countryside. The cottage was cosy, warm and comfortable. It was particularly lovely watching the lambs in the nearby fields from the hot tub!

This place was amazing. The hosts were super friendly and very accommodating leaving you wanting for nothing, along with little touches to the property like refilling the firewood whilst we were out on a walk in the lakes, to things like a fresh loaf of bread with a choice of jam or butter in the fridge when we arrived. The photos of the place are beautiful, and although they don’t do it justice for what you get, I can honestly say that you practically have a full, well maintained, clean, cosy and comfortable house/ barn to live in for your stay. It was the perfect weekend for us all in all and we can’t thank Pat and Neil enough. I was particularly impressed with when we departed, Pat and Neil were asking for feedback and opinions showcasing their ongoing thoughts of continuous improvement for all their future guests. It’s hard to top what they’re already doing, as they’ll continue to strive for that which was clear. You can’t go wrong staying here and I’d definitely recommend.

Eve communicated really well. The Airbnb was immaculate, warm, spotlessly clean, and nicely decorated for Christmas. Also just a short walk from Cockermouth town centre which was perfect for us. Overall was amazing and we’d definitely stay again.

We’ve just got back from a beautiful stay at the cottage. We stayed two nights and wish we’d booked more time! We had a lovely experience start to finish, we had clear instructions of where to go and found the farm very easily. Check in was straightforward and the cottage was immaculate. The fresh eggs from the farm were a lovely touch, we had them for breakfast the following morning. Kelly kept in touch in case there was anything we needed but we had everything and more. We have a 6 month old and Kelly provided a high chair and travel cot which was great. There are some great pub/restaurants really close and we also had a day out in Corbridge which had some amazing cafes. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

Perfect, quiet retreat in a beautiful location. The accommodation was very comfortable with well stocked kitchen and powerful shower. We loved wildlife spotting in the garden - deers, birds and bats. Some very good walks, perfect location for the northern fells. Quaint little villages with good local pubs. Emma was extremely helpful answering my questions before our trip and makes the most fantastic brownies- thank you!

One of the best apartments we've ever been. Frances greeted us with a homemade bread and a freshly baked chocolate cake. Both were absolutely delicious. We also got milk in the fridge and some fresh eggs. The whole apartment was extraordinary and we immediately felt like home. Our host was very friendly and quick with answers when we had a question. We highly recommend to stay at Frances's farm.

Just returned from an excellent stay. The property was easy to find. Pretty location in a fairly sleepy village with a couple of lovely pubs. It's a really good size and perfect for us (4 adults, 3 Children and 4 dogs) Lots of storage space to unpack and tidy everything away. We mainly ventured out into Penrith, Keswick and Therlkeld which were all a short drive away. Kitchen is well stocked with everything we needed - even Kitchen Foil which helpful for all the bacon sandwiches :-) Was a lovely hub to come back to after long day in the fresh air. Very good value :-)

Julie was a wonderful host and the place was fabulous! Stunning countryside views. We felt right at home, thanks in no small part to Julie’s warmth, generosity and possibly the best chocolate brownies in the UK. We were visiting for two day’s walking along sections of Hadrian’s Wall and were so lucky to have found this accommodation to make the whole thing a perfect experience.

A wonderful weekend break at Swallowtails. The accommodation was tastefully decorated and extremely clean and comfortable with everything you need for your stay. Set in a beautiful rural surroundings and countryside walks. The local village has a couple of good pubs within easy walking distance and are dog friendly. Lots of great places to visit within a short drive. The hosts were extremely helpful and respond quickly to any queries. Highly recommended.
