Sightseeing
Kykhill is a beautiful dune in the very center of De Panne. In old times it was the place for the wifes of the seagoing fishermen to watch their husbands return from their fishing trips. Well arranged panoramic deck both for the dike and the polders-landscape.

Ghent (locally : Gent) has a rich history and is a beautiful place to visit in good weather. Has the largest pedestrian area of Europe all in hystorical surroundings. See local Tourist office for musea etc.
In summer there is an annual street festival all over the city.
You can reach Gent easily by highway, but entring the citycenter has become a bit troublesome. Be carefull for the OVERALL 30km/hr speedlimit in the city center.
Better to leeve the car at the outer carpark (eg : Sint Baafs carpark) or at calm moments even the center carpark St Michiels car park).
Connection by train from De Panne to Ghent/Gent.

Entrance on foot from the beach or by car from the "Groene Biezenlaan" or the "Schuilhavenlaan" (Vissersdorp). well marked walks from 2 to 10km, possible to connect for walks in Houtsaegerduinen, Calmeynbos, etc
A must for nature-lovers and a differentiating factor with other coastal villages/towns
